I'm pretty sure there were a few recordings on the big sisters, let me go over the tapes and see if I can find them

I believe there was only 1 recording done by Tenenbaum personally, and maybe only 2 or 3 that referenced her.
I don't remember what they were about though.

If you don't plan on playing the first one, I would skim through the wiki page for the first one, for the general gist of the story. Mainly key characters/major happenings that get referenced in 2.

Just play the first one. You wont appreciate the second one if you dont.

Went through all the recordings I had on my furthest save point. had maybe an hour left in the game, found these...

    Spoiler: show
    Gil Alexander: Growing Up
The Little sisters are getting older... which is troubling. As they reach adolescence, they become aggressive, feral. Worse, the ADAM they ingest contains traces of lethal Plasmids left over from the war. The splicers are becoming far more effective predators as well. Our Big Daddies are falling left and right. Perhaps... perhaps the elder Sisters could be trained to sniff out the lost ADAM, and reclaim it for us. Yes... from what I've seen they certainly wouldn't have to wait for the culprit to die...

    Spoiler: show
    Gil Alexander: Big Sister
We put our eldest sister through a new regimen of physical and mental conditioning, and suited her up with the modified Protector equipment of my design. The younger sister ones have dubbed her a "Big Sister." Sadly, this is a stop gap. Between rogue splicers and the aging of the girls, we'll run out of viable little sisters soon. After that... the surface may be our only source...

All I could find, that help at all D:?

Indeed. If you want to play Bioshock 2, I say playing Bioshock 1 is a must.
I personally like Bioshock 1 better. They just seemed to do a better job with the creepy, scary atmosphere. They used shadows and sounds a lot better, with more jumpy scared moments. Very little of that in Bioshock2. maybe because of the character you play, idk.
I'm not saying Bioshock2 isn't good, just that I thought 1 was better.
and story wise, yeah, you wont really appreciate much of anything or understand a lot of stuff without at least reading up on the story of the 1st game.

I'm pretty close to beating the game (in Inner Persephone), and I can say I am enjoying the game. Although I am not quite enjoying it like I did the first Bioshock. The first game was such a surreal atomsphere and a major mind-fuck halfway thru. The feeling I can best describe this game is nostalgia. Its nice to see Rapture again and I do like some of the new things. Most people who havent played the first one arent going to get alot of the stuff discussed on the audio logs I suspect.

But part of it is like seeing an older car that needs body work but has nice rims. Sure the car was the shit when it came out, but throwing nice rims on it isnt gonna make it new again.

Just beat the game, thought the story was really well done and had plenty of plasmid fun throughout it all. Kind of annoyed by how linear it felt compared to the first one though. Trap Rivets sucked donkey nuts in this game too, shit felt weak and setting up traps altogether seemed like a waste of time for the most part. And on top of all of that, they freaking nerfed my Telekinesis to oblivion!

    Spoiler: show
Was there anyway to keep Sinclair alive by the way? Didn't find all the audio tapes but it didn't seemed like his character was completely fleshed out.

    1. Into some shady shit.
    2. Randomly helping you.
    3. Randomly gets turned into an Alpha.
    4. Dead.

Really feels like I missed something here.

The trap rivets are so cash, they were infinitely better than the traps from the first one. Not to mention really good damage wise on sisters and daddys earlier on before you start getting fleshed out with powers and upgrades.

Had to step away from the game for a day or so to finish what I was wanting to with ME2, but I'm glad to see the bee swarm is as useful as it was in the first one. Easily one of my favorite plasmids to use. Bees stun them, then pop a splicer in the grill with a frozen drill dash. Shits boss.

Joy... I went to save my game before Diowhatever Park and game froze... went to load it and last save, and it was corrupt so have to redo all Siren alley (What I think it was callled). Just luck that my auto save was still fine.

Placing about 40 trap rivets & using lvl2/3 bee swarm while a lil sis is collecting makes it so easy. The part where i was able to pick up the take no damage trophy was at
    Spoiler: show
i think the 2nd part of the city streets. there is a hallway with a body to collect adam on a top floor with two entrances. Lace them with trap rivets, you won't set them off when walking through them. There is only two ways that the splicers can spawn, makes it really simple.

towards the end of game you can crank up the amount you can carry. maybe not 40, but it's close & all stay up.

    Spoiler: show

    ah.
likewise ways to increase the trap plasmid as well?

Traps are just too fun. for my last gather, I was in a small room with only 2 ways in (when youre looking for the flowers and you have to drop through the broken glass to an area below), I had all my Trap rivets, Trap bolts, trap plasmids (on fire), proxy mines, 2 helicopter turrets and mini-turrets set up. too bad there were a bunch of houdinis. I got hit by a fireball and ruined my perfect.
I still had more than half of the traps left, so I just fixed it up some and waited for the Big Sister to come in.
