Don't want to bump an old thread so I'll just ask here. I've recently picked the original BioShock up from where I've left off a year ago. Sorta forgot the basics.

Should I worry about conserving ammo? That is, can I just use my pistol regularly or should I use melee weapon unless I find myself in a shitty situation?

And about turrets....its possible to hack every hostile turret out there right?

    Thanks in advance.

You dont really have to conserve ammo, but it is possible to play through most of the game with just the wrench.

    You can hack every turret.

The only thing I usually conserved was the electric spears and the frag grenades/missiles for the fights against the Big Daddies.

    Security Command 2 + Handyman = Win.

Does it require Eve to repair them or do they simply have to be hurt a little. I also find it sort of annoying when you're trying to repair them and your security bots decide now would be the best time to check to see if the roof is still in-tact. - - I find myself like spamming jump and b for a good minute or so, or just luring them into a tiny room so they can't fly away from me.

It costs Eve to repair them, but you can only do it if they're damaged. Fairly sure the amount of Eve depends on how badly they're damaged too.

Just beat the game. Was pretty short but very enjoyable. It had its pros and cons compared with the first game but both were definitely great games regardless. I tried saving all the little sisters and I got the pure-good ending. The last level I pretty much was running around with full on ammo and money and only stopping to grab an occasional health pack or eve injector so I just ran through everything not stopping to loot. : /

Question, should I get this for 360 or PS3 or is is irrelevant and not like DMC4, bayonetta, FFXIII etc.?

Whatever system you want pretty much. Ive seen both running and they look identical as far as visuals go. From what Ive heard the multiplayer is pretty dead on either console. So I guess if you like achievements or trophies, pick your poison.

He bashes the very best part of the game, imo. Big Sisters were probably the most challenging thing in Bioshock and I actually enjoyed the mini-scare they gave you when you heard the scream. I admit it would have been a lot more harder in Bioshock settings meaning no 2 security bots, floor full of trap rivets and three turrets. : p

I remember in the original Bioshock all I ever used was Telekinesis and found myself constantly capped with ammo. Flinging bodies at the splicers usually one shots them.

Just gotten around to playing and finishing this game, and I really enjoyed it.

I played through on Hard mode first which really made me feel like I was alone in Rapture again, considering just about anything could give you a serious arse kicking if you're not careful. Every single Big Sister scream filled me with dread and a panicked rush to find a suitable fighting area and set it up with defence.

The only things I wasn't too keen on was hearing nothing from Tenenbaum after Sinclair was killed.
Sinclair was my other problem; after hearing so much about him and his dealings from the audio diaries, I don't like the idea that he was just helping Delta because he's a really lovely chap. That's not really in character and he had to have his own motive of some sort.

All that said, it's a great game and I look forward to playing through again on easy mode using nothing but the drill and trap/decoy/bee plasmids~

I haven't played much of the multi-player so it's probably explained through that but Sinclair seems like such an incomplete character in the story. Shady > Lovely > Still Kind of Shady > Alpha Daddy > Dead. Pretty much summarizes his time with Delta with absolutely no explanation to his motives other then something shallow like he wanted to be rich. Tenebaum is just as guilty for this, after the whole experience it feels like the developers just wanted to shoe-horn her into the game somehow.

Well, guess we'll just have to wait for BioShock 3.

I really fucking hate it when companies do this.

    http://www.maxconsole.net/content.ph...lready-on-disc

Eagle eyed gamers are ANGRY that the BioShock 2 DLC is already on the disc. Despite this, 2K feels the need to charge gamers to essentialy 'unlock' the content. Interestingly enough, the DLC is as little as 24KB in size!

It's 24KB in size because it's already on the disc. All you're basically downloading is the "switch" to access the content. SFIV did the same bullshit with alternate costumes.

If it's on the disc, it should be in the original game you pay for. Paying for Unlock codes is bullshit.

Have to agree. Pretty shitty to make people pay for something already on the disc. Damn you 2k!

Finished the game the other night and hot damn, it's a good one!

Got the best (good) ending of course. How can you not love those little sisters?

the multiplayer - I hear MP is pretty dead. I take it it's not worth buying just for some multiplay fun? I'm not the sort of guy who replays the campaign once it's finished if there's no extensive replay value, and frankly, the game is too long to play again just for an alternate ending.

One thing I'm confused about partially cause i dont remember Bioshock 1 that well, but Eleanor/Sofia both mention a few times how Eleanor brought you to Rapture and you were known as the man from the surface before you were Delta. Is it safe to assume that the protagonist in 1 is thought to be Delta by some of the people at first? Also, wtf happened to Tenenbaum?

No, it's different characters, the diaries and dialogues in the end of bioshock 1 explain why.
    Spoiler: show
And from what I gather, Tenenbaum left for the surface again, after encountering her in the second game and saying she was leaving. Also, Johnny Topside is what they seemed to call subject Delta, and he was an explorer reaching rapture in a bathysphere. The main character in the first game was a test tube child, born in Rapture.
