new multiplayer DLC on the way that some of us will buy then never touch again afterward.

I've gotten a lot of questions about the BioShock 2 Rapture Metro Pack and I figure guys would like more details (and some screenshots!) of our upcoming DLC.

The Rapture Metro Pack is coming soon for Xbox 360, PS3, and Games for Windows Live for 800 MS Point or $9.99. The pack includes six brand new maps including areas rebuilt from the single-player game for MP modes. We also have three new achievements and trophies and have added the Rebirth Feature for players who have reached Rank 50 - using Rebirth, you can rank your character down to Rank 1 and receive a special mask.

Reading the 2k forums, these are already in the game and just need to be "unlocked." Three of the "new" maps are from Bioshock 1 and will be updated to B2's graphics.

I was going through "BioShock 2\MP\Builds\Binaries\ShockMPGame.ini" and noticed a whole bunch of maps listed in a DLC section. I listed the maps here.

    Comments?

    Edit: Here's the list:

*Fontaine Fisheries (DE_Freezers) - Likely the arena-type area you fight Peach Wilkins.
    *Pauper's Drop (DE_Ghetto) - Unknown
*Smuggler's Hideout (DE_Subbay) - Likely reworked caverns of the hideout.
    *Fighting McDonagh's (DE_Tavern) - Unknown.
*Dionysus Park (DE_Gallery) - Likely a reworking of the undamaged version also seen rendered in Deco Devolution artbook.
    *Siren Alley (DE_RedLightAlley) - Unknown

Edit2: For confirmation: Although the GUI and File names are listed in the file, the map files they refer to are NOT in the game; meaning gamedisc, download, or otherwise. It seems that these settings were only used during building of the levels, and will be used when the DLC launches and allows players on the finished maps.

Edit3: The sound files for these maps are in there. Besides that, it seems these maps will be part of the Rapture Metro Map Pack.

Some time ago, I found some interesting files: two variant masks, a Gold Rabbit and a Gold Bucket.

    ...

If you would like to satisfy your curiosity by at least being able to see the masks, you can view the original masks, and their Gold variants, here:

There will also be a "Kill 'Em Kindly melee mode" added and a possible level cap raise to 60.

The new single player DLC, "Protector Trials," is out now and besides something to kill time, it has some nice bonus extras included like concept art, trailers, cut-scenes that didn't make the cut, and a preview of the next & final DLC for Bio2, Minerva's Den, the home to Rapture Central Computing.

This fall, the final DLC for Bioshock 2 will hit Xbox Live, PlayStation Network, and PC. 2K Games announced the single-player focused expansion, “Minerva’s Den,” that promises to feature a never-before-seen type of Big Daddy, new plasmids, Security Bots that throw rockets and lightning bolts, and additional weaponry. The DLC will also introduce Splicers with the ability to “command the power of the elements.”

Stepping into the shoes of an all-new character, players will team up with Dr. Brigid Tenenbaum to “unravel a dictator’s stranglehold” on Rapture Central Computing district, a previously unseen district of the undersea city.

2K Games has yet to name a price for the DLC. However previous DLC packs “Metro Pack” and “Protector’s Trials” were 800 and 400 MS Points respectively.

Today, we're proud to announce "Minerva's Den" for BioShock 2 - a narrative-driven single player addition that puts you back into Rapture and the boots of a Big Daddy. While you explore Rapture Central Computing, you will learn new secrets of the city, encounter new weapons, experiment with a brand new Plasmid, and face off against the most dangerous residents we've seen to date.

Minerva's Den will be available for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Games for Windows Live. Stay tuned for an exact release date!

Note: New content requires BioShock 2 to play.

We're proud to announce new single-player add-on content for BioShock 2, called the Protector Trials. The Protector Trials will be available on August 3rd on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Games for Windows Live.

As a Big Daddy, you must protect a Little Sister from swarms of Splicers, desperate to steal the ADAM your charge is collecting. The Protector Trials take place across six different areas from the single-player experience, designed to challenge your skills and make you think creatively about how to use your weapons and plasmids to best fend off the crazed citizens of Rapture.

The Protector Trials feature six new maps, three different difficulty levels, and seven new Achievements or Trophies. You'll also gain access to new unlockables, never-before-seen concept art and videos.

The Protector Trials will be offered on XBL and GFWL for 400 MS Points and on PSN for $4.99.

So how did you guys like the finale DLC? I thought it was alright for a wrap-up, but the emotion they tried to portray was lacking. The gameplay was good, I wish we could have had those weapons in the main game, and the mobs sincerely felt like a challenge.
