“BioShock 2: Sea of Dreams is part of a prequel and at the same time is a sequel, so you’re kind of close on the interpretation of the trailer. The rising replica of Rapture can represent something to do with this or something part of a bigger surprise that everyone has to wait and see to play.”

Just referring to that. Seeing where they mass produced tonics/plasmids... perhaps audio logs of their tests on subjects, the failed plasmids etc. would be interesting to me. History not explained in the previous game. All that was said was basically... fontaine futuristics developed plasmids..... and people started abusing them.... and thats pretty much it from what I recall.

    edit-

come to find some new info I had not previously seen

    http://theknightshift.blogspot.com/2...ltiplayer.html

Talks about testing new plasmids on yourself in a multilayer aspect, kind of interesting, however I'm partial to single player games (in most cases)

Experience Rapture before it was reclaimed by the ocean and engage in combat over iconic environments in locations such as Kashmir Restaurant and Mercury Suites, all of which have been reworked from the ground up to deliver a fast-paced multiplayer experience.

Also I never knew that it was above ground, perhaps I missed that.

    BioShock 2 surfacing February 9
BioShock 2 surfacing February 9 - News at GameSpot

Back in May, those eager to get back to Rapture after the events of BioShock thought they would not have long to wait, when 2K Games announced the game was to ship worldwide from the end of October. Alas, this was not to be, and BioShock 2, which was first officially confirmed in March 2008, was later moved to a "fiscal 2010" window, with Take-Two saying the game should be out between February and July.

It turns out that BioShock 2 will be released sooner rather than later, as 2K Games announced today that the dystopian shooter will be available worldwide on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC on February 9. BioShock 2 is being developed by a host of different houses, with 2K Marin taking the reins on the single-player campaign and Digital Extremes crafting the multiplayer component. Support is also being provided by 2K Australia, 2K China, and Arkane Studios.

The single-player campaign is set 10 years after the events of BioShock, when, "along the Atlantic coastline, a monster has been snatching little girls and bringing them back to the undersea city of Rapture." The multiplayer component is set before the first game, allowing gamers a glimpse of life in Rapture as things started to go wrong in the undersea utopia, providing "a rich prequel experience that expands the origins of the BioShock fiction."

Bioshock 2 has yet to be rated, though its predecessor received an M-for-Mature rating from the Entertainment Software Rating Board. For more on the game, check out the video below or one of the recent previews.

Wish they would offer a CE/LE for the game like they did last time. They don't seem at all interested in doing it this time, which makes me think they may really be focusing on getting that deadline.

One thing i fully expect will happen either in this one or the next, even though it'll supposed to be a big suprise, is: (huge bioshock1 spoilers ahead)

    Spoiler: show
Andrew Ryan will be alive again. Since only he and jack can use the vita chambers, he probably let himself die to jack to get fontaine off his trail. Then however a vita chamber works, bam! back alive and kicking again.
    Spoiler: show
Granted we don't know how the Vita Chamber truly works, but if it works in the same fashion as it does for Jack, it's only the Chamber most local.

And the Chamber in Ryan's office was intentionally turned off.

Would be pretty lame ass if he came back, though. Sort of cheapens the whole scene where you kill him. Damn did that send chills down my spine.

    Spoiler: show
I agree, it does cheapen the entire scene. I think so far the only logical thing to assume is some of this is probably Tenenbaum's doing, given her past dealings (purchasing Jack as an embryo and rearing him, like a little sister almost...)

Either way, I think it's a bit early to be calling plot lines, given the very little we've been teased with. I also have high hopes that this wont be the sequel that ruins Bioshock. I think even if the story is terrible, the game has instant redeeming qualities (game play, visual style & atmosphere etc.).

Sucks it's up for a February release, I was really hoping to get my hands on it before christmas, but I guess all good things come to those who wait

Even though I have high hope for this game, the latest Game Informer reports that this game is being developed by FOUR fucking studios. Co-developing is alright sometimes, but four? They reportedly also asked Ken Levine for help, but he turned them down. I hope this doesn't turn out to be a train wreck.

I'd assume however, 1 of those studios is solely focusing on the "multiplayer" aspect. This is really something that is a positive thing, as normally multiplayer in a majority single player game never gets any polish, and in general is pretty ass. Having a group that is working on it constantly and treating it as its "own game" could remedy some of the issues people have with it and overall turn out a better game.

From what I remember, Ken Levine the writer of the first one, has nothing to do with the sequel. That, and it has like 4 different studios helping to develop it. So I'm not getting my hopes up, but we will see.

You are correct. But the first was developed by two studios and the PS3 version a third, so Im unsure what to make of that or to think of it negatively. Im pretty excited at the fact you can dual weild this time around and combo's will be much more fluently.
