I thought this was very good. Seemed to be about an equal amount of story and action, and it worked very well for me.

Movie was incredibly boring and unentertaining with a horrible ending imo. Can't believe there was best picture buzz about this. I loved the camerawork in Collateral, but I couldn't stand it in this movie for some reason. Felt like I was watching a home movie.

Also, Giovanni Ribisi was like the most recognized actor in that movie aside from Depp/Bale. Why'd they give him the tiniest role?

same as^, i went in with high expectations and came out disappointed, not even sure what it was, thought anything with bale or depp was destined for awesome, let alone both of them

I think you guys were expecting like fifteen bank robbery scenes or something. <_< I thought it was very intense, because it was primarily story-driven. I'm not sure how you could say that it was boring, unless you were expecting an action movie and not a movie movie.

I liked the movie well enough, but I wouldn't recommend racing to the theater to watch it. My husband on the other hand thought it was a bit slow and dragged at parts.

The ending was amusing if only for the fact there was a very audible gasp (perhaps that isn't quite the right word) in the theater, and then sniffling throughout.

One thing that did annoy me is how it seemed everyone was getting shot through the cheekbone. I absolutely despise when a movie uses the same tactic over and over again. Also, they seemed to focus a lot on a dying person's moment of passing Annoyed me for the same reason as the cheekbone shootings.

I enjoyed it, but felt if they cut out 30 mins it would have been a much better movie. Depp was great, Bale was like cardboard and very forgettable.

I thought it was a pretty good movie. My only real complaint is that at some points it looks like its being shown at 120hz which makes it look very home movie-ish. bleh

I was pretty disappointed. I didnt go in expecting an action flick, but I would have liked some more wit. I really enjoyed the scene where bale and depp first meet up, with the coffee line, but there wasn't many of those moments to me. I also felt some scenes were underutilized, such as depp returning to the police station.

I felt the movie was missing "something" overall. The scene at the end didn't come across as powerful as I think it could have been, esp w/the cops blue eyes and such... I dont know, it just NEARLY hit the mark in every category.

definetly worth a watch, and was a very worthy movie, just got frustrated with it because the players were there, and it was a lot of ALMOST to me ;/

Hmmm... judging by the reviews I guess I'll put this on my rent list rather then go see it in theaters.
