it's only 10:30am on the East Coast, give it time.
inb4 "i want to go on record as bitching about this just in case it turns out to be shitty, so i can look really s-m-r-t"
also WRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRy couldn't they have given us an option to trade conquest points?! cause you know, i really need the 631,000 i have.
Nah, he's not bitching about the update or SE fail, he's bitching about Destinye and just saying the same thing everyone is pretty much thinking anyway. Dest popped in twice to make snarky comments at people without contributing anything to the thread, and frankly, I'm with Hirokei on this one.
Also, big hint, Dest - just because a reference is made to developers who create unbeatable mobs in a game that have been a huge focus of drama, and then wonder if these developers are in fact able to create fun, all-encompassing elements to the game as they claim is their focus, does not mean that person who made the reference believes those insane mobs are all there is to FFXI. Learn reading comprehension please.
It does seem promising that things like commute time and basic convenience factors are being taken more into consideration as things progress. And the NM thing is promising, especially if it is a step towards pop NMs, etc. I do worry it will just end up being a new ZNM however - but every step is a good one. If the appeal is much greater in this sort of setup, it could finally clue them in.
If it ends up requiring large amounts of seals, etc, the only thing that could make it better is if they allow multiple donations of seals from different people go towards obtaining the key item.
This tidbit seems pretty incredible.
Seriously. It's not credible. It seems too good.
Feh. Please. Has square enix ever failed us? No. Clearly no. Square reminds me of vash the stampede: always there in a pinch, ready to whisk you away in his anime arms to a safer place. How dare you attempt to box in my bestest posting friend destinye with your GAJIN logic and references to past disappointments. Ugh. Just ugh. As if you, a player, could understand what makes a game fun simply by spending your time doing a variety of events.
Endgame players who do all the endgame events may have endgame suggestions for what they feel is fun based on what they spent hours doing before it got completely old as shit but we know that the japanese developers understand FAR better due to the amazing dedication they have in answering a whole five questions. Sometimes even in the same month. If I wasn't working on exping to do my 5-2 battle (DON'T SPOIL WHO I FIGHT, I THINK I KNOW BUT DON'T SPOIL) I'd really get into it. But I'll keep it short for you KIDS.
Anyone who doesn't agree with Destinye's posts?
Eat shit geargetters.
Some of us have more -lofty- concerns then "improving our character" or "significant game changing new mechanics to address a slowly dwindling player base" or "Instance dynamis FFS already" or "Work to develop more medium group sized endgame content that challenges players yet still gradually moves them to significant rewards like salvage and nyzul but not like ZNMs mythics AV and land kings... make it like einharjar but capped at 18". It reminds me of how in ghost in the shell the Major has to clean up after all the greed in a (fictional, real japan is very safe, clean, and uncorrupt I will live there one day for real) future japan.
Please. You bluegarters need to spend more time enjoying life and culture (might I suggest some animes?) and less time boorishly trying to enjoy the game the way you actually enjoy it, which is wrong because it's not allakazam's way.
@ Whaleporn: Post would have been epic without that last part, should have let some people think it was real.
Eastern Altepa Desert
Yuhtunga Jungle
Yhoator Jungle
Western Altepa Desert
More field manuals in areas where people exp is pure win. Although, I tend to stay in Qufim until about Lv.30 to skip the jungle. If these are as good as I hope I might actually do jungle parties again...
Don't shit up my lovely FoV awesomeness.
Time to get awesome shiniez all to myself PLing useless jobs to 37.
Edit: I fap to whaleporn.
It's because for a long time I felt square should look into recycling low to mid level crafting gear into something better to keep the market moving, and lo and behold they seem to be doing just that. Also, I always felt that for however repetitive grinding is, in wow they would give you essentially little doggie treats for going to X spot to grind against Y mob. And, I always wished there was more incentive to sniff around those old areas to find treasure. It seems like square is finally making their game fun to play, so I cant help but <3 to you, alien parasite that has brain jacked the devs.
I havent xped lower levels in a party since FoV first came out but just an honest question...
When you are xping, do you constantly have people saying "hang on i need to go talk to the npc" or "hold pull I wanna try to open this treasure casket"? Seriously if thats the case, gtfo my party.
I think that most people are massively overestimating the level of gear and NM's that will be available.
FoV was created for non-lifers, they aren't going to toss them super-end-game mobs or super-end-game gear.
SE may do things wrong, but the player base always creates their own expectation gaps. Desintye may take the point way too far, but in reality his post just backed up the post of the person before him. SE says something, some people listen and are realistic, and some people think they are going to be able to pop fucking Byakko from the FoV manual in sky.
New NMs or old NMs? I'd like to pop Leaping Lizzy and then return to the Manual for a pair of Bounding Boots so I don't have to keep killing her over and over. Please make this happen.
This was my attitude when I set out to make a machinima from the game plot, and see where it got me?
Yeah, comparing the decisions made in kings vs. Einherjar, the dev team looks like a bunch of Crouching Moron Hidden Badasses.
The Hero is Hiromichi Tanaka, obviously. Steven Reinhart counts as The Lancer, with Masato Kato as The Smart Guy. Sage Sundi gets to be the Big Guy, and Yuuko Hatae is The Chick.
Together they adventure in the Kingdom of Marketing, during the Period of the Fiscal Annuum. Can they uncover the Legend of the Holy Franchise? By fighting the dangerous forces of Dark Lord Liabilities and his secret master, Operating Margin, together our intrepid band might find success in their quest to increase profits and maintain a playerbase!
It seems interesting but imma hold my breath. For Every time SE releases something epic theres at least 9 fails somewhere else. Whether this is gonna be an actual epic thing or not noone will actually know till after patch day![]()
