I've actually seen four before I stopped bothering to try to open those chests. I took a lot of jobs 30-37 doing FoV in that area, so it was one piece of equipment I might actually allow myself to call "free". And then, of course, 37-42 on colibri...and then more FoV. When you think of how much easier exp has gotten since NA release, and now FoV is being expanded...I can't wait.

Edit: and really, the only alternative for DRG legs for a long, long time is +5 attack. Yay? I'll stick with the better-looking Herder's in the hope that the pet acc makes up for the small loss in my damage.

not formally, mainly due to 3 reasons..

1) most SMN don't care about avatar accuracy before they get to Lv65. and by then they'd use Spats because...

2) most SMN probably believe that Spats are better or the equivalent of Herders, since they are way higher level already.

3) most SMN wouldn't be caught dead wearing that as a SMN <- i subscribe to this

i'd love to get it for my BST, probably.. but I'm not using an offensive pet build anyway..

42 is a sticking point right now; it's the end of the line for Qufim FoV, but for many jobs, Beaucedine will still be too hard, and if you aggro an eye (one of which loves to flap all over the manual)...yum-o. I guess you could duo, but more zones will be a very welcome addition. I haven't tried Xarc FoV yet, but honestly none of the targets seem particularly appealing.

Ahriman are my most hated demons, and generally among my least favorite opponent. Naturally, their presence there makes Beaucedine Glacier a painful place at the 40s, especially solo'ing.

Good stuff. I know it got parsed by a BST75 a while ago, will try to dig out the results. I think it was using Courier Carrie with and without the Herder's, with all other equipment being equal.

BRB if I find it.

edit: all I could find was this, and yes it's from alla and the samples size is a bit low but the strategy used is pretty decent:
