I'd suggest visiting your doctor so they can give you a proper evaluation and get a more personalized program.
Only burning 2000 calories a day for a male would be considered a really slow metabolism.

    As for gaining weight:
8 ounces of butter is 1628 calories (put it on stuff throughout the day)
32 ounces of eggnog is 1374 calories
1 cup of peanuts is 814 calories
A triple whopper from Burger King with a large french fries and milk shake is 2820 calories. (1250 + 580 + 990)
A pizza hut supreme stuffed crust pizza is 410 calories per slice. (and they define a slice as 1/8th of a pizza)
1 Bloomin Onion appetizer from Outback Steakhouse is 2310 calories

I could EASILY rack up 7k calories per day with minimal extra effort if for some strange reason I wanted to.

eating 30x your daily satfat and 10x your daily cholesterol is pretty counter productive. and yea, my bmr is about 2k a day, so if i do nothing i can still eat 2k and not gain weight. I don't really think anyone should push beyond 2x their cal/day cap, which is good for you every now and then, but you still shouldnt just drop it all on as much junk as possible.

    Um... right. No.

If you want to gain weight, yea it does depend on metabolism and body type.

A good general guideline though is 1g protein/lb or body weight, and try to shoot for 3k calories a day if you're going to be exercising daily or close to it. Diet is the biggest problem for most people. Yea, you can easily eat 7k calories a day in complete crap... but regardless of how much you work out, you will look like shit.

~3k calories in decent foods will help you gain weight and put on the right weight. Fat is ok, just make it decent fats... like olive oil, nuts, that kind of stuff. Chicken, eggs, nuts, dairy is all good for weight and protein.

I'm just pointing out that it is not hard to gain weight if someone is desperate enough to do so at any cost.

Most people drastically underestimate their calories per day. I know I did years back when I actually started keeping good track.
