msklc for windows xp and windows me works in ffxi without windower. it works in any application. it swaps your entire keyboard layout. it's an elementary windows xp/vista application that can change your keyboard layout. it's not a violation of the terms of service. ive already discussed with a GM. Windower + IME is only a violation because its windower.

You make it sound like talking with one GM is the final end all of all rules within the game. Like I mentioned already, I've seen personally 2 people in my linkshell get suspended for using JP-Unicode lettering & symbols in their bazaar & seacom (some dickhead from a rival shell called a GM In spite).

In return, they got 72 hour suspensions with reviews. The violation was that they were using JP-Unicode on a NA client. Not that they were using a "third party tool" or "Windows based IME tool".

The only risk-free solution to this is to purchase the JP client, if you really want access to IME and will not risk a ban under any circumstances. Fair warning, if you're not near Japan, shipping takes forever.

I alleviate this by just letting people think I might be japanese/live in japan/have a jp client >.> I have full kana/kanji conversations with the JPs on my server often enough that I probably won't arouse suspicion lol. Plus no one gives a crap about what I do XD

If you care about your account I really wouldn't use these if you do have the NA version. Anyone can GM you for it and its almost always a 72 hour ban, if they feel like it they can give you a permaban.

But if you don't care about possible being banned it probably be ok to use most of the time.

i havent heard of anyone getting suspended since official window mode which makes it easy to use MSKLC and works with any applicatin including POL.

Honestly I think it's more of a harassment issue than a 3rd party program issue. Like someone on page 1 said, the reason for tempbans is using japanese characters, not using windower etc. If you don't have a japanese client that means you're likely not japanese and could use japanese to harass JP players and you know they're too shy to GM the shit out of you for a direct textual offense unlike NA players will do to each other for indirect bullshit. I think it's retarded to enforce that 'no IME' rule anyway but whatever, SE does whatever it wants regardless of whether it makes sense or not.

Your registered version will show to them upon the first time ever using your keys on a POL client. So if you used the NA client to register. Even if you use the JP version. Your still flagged as NA.
