    Most recent DirectX

    What's the most recent one and where can i DL it from? I have googled it and all the links that came up looked good untill the actual download started then "could not find page" bs came up, my connection is fine.

    What OS do you have? Isn't the latest version incompatible with XP? Although it should work fine for Vista.

    Hmm, ok. Try here next. It's a site that downloads from Microsoft for you, just in case it's something on your side.

    Well, your only hope now is that one of us downloads here and upload it to an external source (or you can hunt down an external source) and grab it there, although that depends on how much you trust us/external sources.

    Guru3d is a reputable site, try this : DirectX End-User Runtimes (November 2008) download from Guru3D.com

    Pretty sure thats the latest update

    Yeah, I've had a friend with this issue before. Since when you download (as mentioned above) from an external site. It still requires downloading of the software through their installer/downloader.

    Anyways the issue my friend had with not being able to download it was because he had a lot of services turned off in vista for performance tweaks. iirc it was Background Intelligence Transfer service or something that wasn't set to "automatic".
