Also, I've been thinking about trying WoW since people say it's not as time consuming and irritating as FFXI. I've also been just playing a lot of online games like CoD4, Halo 3, Gears of War 2, and Guitar Hero 3 and World tour over the last 3-4 months simply because I'm just bored often times on FFXI.

    TIME MAGE WHERE ARE YOU!!

Edit: Just saw the thread for Diablo 3.. >.> (no need to point it out >.<)
Christmas is the rumor for those who don't care to find that other thread. Anyway, on topic: I played FFXI pretty hardcore a while back and quit just after the major anti-MPK patch because it killed BST and I was sick of being pure WHM... Went to WoW and had a blast as a Beastmaster Hunter (Eat that FFXI). Anway, WoW is great fun until you hit max level. Crafts don't have critical breaks, but also don't really have fantastic armor that you'll use end-game. Once you obtain a certain level of gear, you were pretty much stuck since only progression was in your weekly raids. Though I guess if you're good with time management, you can manage to do your raid and then log off and not spend 8 hours a days playing the game. Really didn't feel like a lot to do except grind up some extra money or consumables for the next raid. Might just be that I played the game too much though.

It's definitely not a bad game though. And I agree with Wafik on the "avoid asian." They just seem to add random grinding events that make no sense other than keeping you playing the game longer.

I wish I could've pimped my FFXI character out without needing to spend 5hrs a night in sky/sea/dynamis. WoW end game sounds like an effing paradise compared to FFXI...
    It is.

I think any game's endgame is a paradise compared to FFXI... I can't think of any other game out there that I literally had to be drunk to play.

Also, yea, take the 10day free trial of warhammer, totally worth it and an amazing game, then again, I live and breath PVP, so I guess Warhammer is just my cup of tea and seeing as how it lets you PVP straight from Level 1 could be what made me like it so much.

You'll be sorely disappointed when you hit 40, but you can find that out for yourself I guess

Wouldn't be a first time, after all I hit 50 in City of Heroes, but CoH had nothing at all to do endgame, and got several 75s on FFXI, at least I'll have pvp in WAR, which is pretty much all it amounts to, right?

Not really. Most scenarios end up being a mass slaughter for one side, making them boring regardless of whether or not you're on the winning team.

RvR is pretty much the same old same old and a lot of zerging. Prepare to be pissed off as your small group of well geared skilled players dies repeatedly to Bright Wizard spam hehe

Already have that going on in T1, but I don't get ma that easily, guess I'm used to one class being the top.

But, then again, I always have my WB zerg the BWs/healers first and leave the meleeDPS last, seems to work out well so far, just need to make sure I keep getting decent groups.

On the whole "slaughter" thing, I enjoy it, makes it challenging and more fun when you overtake them and push them back, after all it is a war and those sorts of things happen in actual wars.

    Least it's not like DarkfaIl.

Correction, GW had a pretty shitty endgame too. It turned into CS with magic while people claimed how awesome they were even though they directly uploaded their build from Guild Wiki.
