So I have a few questions about this thread and am a career mage (with Tamas Ring) and plan on leveling DRK soon. So if I'm swinging at capped acc(95~96%) use Moli set and how will i be able to tell what my capped att will be. Like i said career mage so don't eat me alive x.x. Thank you in advance and will have a few easily(ish) obtainable items for my TP set i plan to use when 75. Will post them later.
your attack isnt going to be capped on xp mobs
So its only on HNMs where capped att comes into play. And for my TP set when i hit 75 it'll look somthing like this:
Head: Walahara Turban (Until Askar/Ace's)
Body: Hauby +1 (Until Askar(correct me if this is bad idea)/Ebody or Ares)
Hands: Homam or Dusk
Legs: Homam
Feet: Homam
Back: Cuchulain's
Waist: Swift
Ammo: Fire Bomblet
Neck: PCC until J torque
Ear: Brutal/Assualt have to redo DM
Rings: Sniper x2 (Dont want to get rid of Tamas yet ; .
Due to these recent arguements and conversations I don't which scythe i should use for this setup. My Scythe will be 8/8.
you cant really cap your att on HNMs either
and the only ones you are really gonna melee full time is shit like faf and KB and aspid and maybe cerberus depends on how your shell fights him
it does
Askar = easy way to obtain 6 hit.
If they want a store tp body that badly...
ACP. Store tp + 10 acc. way better than Askar if you need it for the 6-hit.
Askar body good for:
DRGs full time until you get aurum cuirass.
Don't need askar in merit party on warrior with GA sub sam because you will have a 6 hit after RR.
If you are a DRK you do not need it if you are using scythe and subbing sam. As if you hit all hits on your WS (like you should be doing) you should be getting enough tp return to keep a 6 hit after Guillotine/Perdu. I dont even really know what to say about greatsword I havent really looked into it as much seeing as different people have different tastes in greatswords(Naglering Algol etc.)
If you are a sam and you dont hava an amano dont wear it.
The way 6 hit works for DRKs with 501 is: with Rajas, Brutal and Sub sam, only need to hit 2 times (even if first hit misses, doesn't matter) to get TP back in 6 hits.
Slightly annoying on colibri (at times) but it's not always an issue (tickle and hit you once = 6 hit).
For Spinning you are a bit buggered. You are definitely short. Naglering is the only realistic GS to use and even then you are going to need extra STP.
In terms of using non-Haub (or AdaHaub); check your acc. Diabolic eye at 5/5 will give you a 20 acc bonus. While this is up, assuming you have 95% acc without it (say, on birds; this is *easy* to do for a decently geared and merited DRK), throw on Ares (Askar is a maybe at best; you are losing some attack and crit % for 2 DA). When Eye is down again throw the Haub back on.
You will definitely get more bang for your buck if you take some of the extra pains to maximize your DPS.
I don't understand, why do people think its ok to get hit at all? I know some people actually try to get hit at least once or twice so they can obtain their X hit build. Its bad enough that your /sam as is in meripos, I'd be lucky not to get complaints so I try my best to NOT get hit no matter what.
It's unavoidable /sam. Doesn't matter how good you are, if you get unlucky with Third Eye procs you are getting smacked around.
Usually if the mob is on you Tickle + hit is likely to happen. Or just use a Tred on birds and call it a day.
Yeahhh every time I go as /sam, unless I've got a other DDs in the party that's all well equipped/merited also I pull hate way too much, even from just swinging the scythe. So I practically end up full-timing seigan.
At least I still get my store tp+ bonus and meditate lol.
What you should be worried about though is the 5-hits it takes to get back to 100 tp after you WS. A true 6-hit doesn't really matter all that much. But maintaining a 5-hit after you WS does.
Now, with /sam, raja's, brutal (21stp) and excluding double attacks on WS:
Tred = Base 14.4 tp/hit. (14.4*.21)+14.4 = 17.424 = 17.4 tp/hit.
528's are true 6-hit builds (from 0 to 100 tp in 6 hits) 100/17.4 = 5.74 = 6 hit
Moliones (or any 501) = Base 13.6 tp/hit. (13.6*.21)+13.6 = 16.456 = 16.4tp/hit.
501's are true 7-hit builds, 100/16.4 = 6.09 = 7 hit.
4-hit guillo (max return):
528
WS return = 17.4 + (1*.21+1)*3 = 21.03 = 21tp return
(100 - 21) / 17.4 = 4.54 = 5 hits to get 100 tp
501
WS return = 16.4 + (1*.21+1)*3 = 20.03 = 20tp return
(100-20) / 16.4 = 4.87 = 5 hits to get 100 tp
Missing 1st hit on guillotine:
528
WS return = (1*.21+1)*3 = 3.63 = 3.6tp return
(100-3.6) / 17.4 = 5.54 = 6 hits to get 100 tp
501
WS return = (1*.21+1)*3 = 3.63 = 3.6tp return
(100-3.6) / 16.4 = 5.87 = 6 hits to get 100 tp
Missing any hit on guillotine besides the 1st:
528
WS return = (1*.21+1)*2 + 17.4 = 19.82 = 19.8tp return
(100-19.8 ) / 17.4 = 4.609 = 5 hits to get 100 tp
501
WS return = (1*.21+1)*2 + 16.4 = 18.82 = 18.8tp return
(100-18.8 ) / 16.4 = 4.95 = 5 hit to get 100 tp
Missing any 2-hits on guillotine besides the 1st:
528
WS return = (1*.21+1)*1 + 17.4 = 18.61 = 18.6tp return
(100-18.6) / 17.4 = 4.67 = 5 hits to 100 tp
501
WS return = (1*.21+1)*1 + 16.4 = 17.61 = 17.6tp return
(100-17.6) / 16.4 = 5.02 = 6 hit to 100 tp
So it appears to me that 1) Any scythe (528 or 501) missing the 1st hit on guillotine losses 5 hit build and 2) a 501 missing any 2 hits on WS losses 5 hit build aka your comment about only needing to land any 2 hits is incorrect (I'm assuming you meant trying to keep the 5 hit, since a 6 hit build after you WS isn't helping you). Missing any 2 hits period (first or otherwise) on guillotine and a 501 losses 5 hit. This is where the 528 has an advantage over a 501 in the 5 hit department.
I forget what the % chance is of hitting max guillotine return at 95% accuracy, I think it was about 80% or something? I'm sure someone will chime in with that. So as far as keeping the 5 hit build, it's not so much about hitting all 4 hits, but hitting the first hit for the most part. Of course maximizing guillotine damage is a different subject, I'm just referring to keeping your 5 hit build.
