For Valk Fork, Assuming Brutal/Rajas as well, you only need 2 more STP.
Askar/PCC/Sniper to Ares/Chiv/Ecphoria gives: +10Str +12Att -2%DA -6Acc - Obviously better. Furthermore, if you're using Drakesbane or Penta, you really shouldn't be hitting under 3hits per WS, at which point you only need 8STP, which is done with just Rajas, Chiv and Brutal, or with Fork, only Rajas.

unless we assume good gear since ares people generally have other good gear how about askar/love/ulta to ares/chiv/ecphoria, thats +10 str +1 att vs +5 dex +5 acc +2% DA, so I don't really see how ares would better since you have to gimp 2 slots, plus v-fork is really fucking rare, and to get 6-hit w/o it or askar/aurum makes you give up alot more.

Alternatively, Add in White Tathlum over your Tiphia/Black Tath/Whatever, that gives you all the STP you need, whilst only losing you out on (at most) 4acc/4att/1Dex (black tath).

That again, pushes Ares ahead.

Add in the +8 DEX from Aurum body and you'll see you're sacrificing ~+4ACC and ~+6 ACC's worth of DEX. Thalassocrat has +2 DEX, which adds into the parse I mentioned earlier. The player who made the parse did not have black tathlum at the time (Used Aurum body) and only parsed ~90% ACC. Consider how much your ACC will suffer if you remove what is essentially +10 ACC worth of gear for some STR and +5 ATT. Not worth it to me, especially when that's just on merit mobs.
