    Tyger questions.

I've been reading through the threads on Tyger information, but I really need answers for my particular situation on this ZNM. My linkshell currently has a million paladins that I trust to tank Tyger. Well, more like 5, but the fact remains it's overkill. We also only have one ninja that I trust to tank Tyger.

I read about the PLD/NIN and NIN/RDM combo tank, and also about PLD/RDM and PLD/WAR possibly being a better tank. Now, is PLD/NIN x2 out of the question? This is what we use to tank most stuff (Besides the usual NIN/DRK, which we won't be doing because of the Stun problem) but it seems if their shadows are going to be wiped by Tourbillion, DA/TA, and other things like Dreadstorm, it does seem kind of silly to sub NIN.

Is PLD/NIN that big of a problem? Having the RDM and WAR sub available isn't my concern, I'm just wondering if we should stick with the tried and true /NIN, or move on to /RDM or /WAR. Which of these three is best?

Should we have the NIN/RDM come be the second tank?

My next question is about DDs. We will most definately have at least 2 BLMs, probably more but I'm looking at it from a worst case scenario. I want 4, but w/e, we'll deal with what we have. We will definately have a SMN, but might not have multiples because we need them for BRD.

Which brings me to the point that we have DDs leaking from our ass. A few can RNG, most are SAM or WAR. We will have at least 6 DDs, probably more, and maybe 1~3 RNGs.

Now, I assume most of this fight is done from range. I've only fought Khim in Nyzul, and while he's an easy kill, tourbillion makes things bleh when it comes to melee.

Can anyone give me any feedback on a setup, especially concerning our tanks?

    Thanks again!

Oh and also, we're doing Tinnin, but he seems like he won't be a huge deal so I didn't include him in the topic title. Any tips for him? I pretty much got the general strategy from the topic on the second page.

No experience with Tyger, so anyone who replies to your first inquiry would benefit me aswell.

My Tinnin info isn't in any real order. It's more of a bunch of tips.

We have two PLD/NIN for Tinnin and the usual support they need. We got a WHM, RDM, BRD and whatever else support we scrounge up. The majority of the DD is BLMs who MB off of two SAM/THF that run in for TAWS only. We always have a couple BLMs sub WHM to Cursna/Poisona the tanks as soon as Nerve Gas goes off.

The SAMs do an initial WS on both PLDs to plant hate then we let it Regen to full. The fight is mostly reactionary to his TP moves. He does Nerve Gas after every Bulwark so it's easy to see coming. PLDs usually get Utsu: Ichi as he uses it since it wipes shadows but doesn't interrupt casting. PLD Cure IV each other once or twice.

He uses either Trembling or Barofield (forgot which) followed by 1 or 2 breath attacks (depending on how many heads are up). This can be troublesome as a dual breathe can often time kill one PLD unless the healers/other PLD is quick. Might be worth it to keep a Barice or Fire up. He'll also turn to face his target, so after the breaths the other parties need to relocate. Turning him isn't an option due to his Draw In triggering a TP attacking, possibly a Serpentine Tail, Nerve Gas cycle or Breath Cycle. It's very good to be careful on hate due to that reason as well.

With Haste, Haste Gear, Dual March and either slow or elegy it's very easy for the PLDs. Without slow or Elegy it's a little more difficult. We usually Elemental Seal + Paralyze his Mighty Strikes.

PLDs shouldn't need too much refresh due to Curse. It's immune to non elemental magic (Atonement, Spirits) so they should have TP for Chivalry in case they really need it. I have never used Chiv or had an MP issue.

We did 3x PLD/NIN, BRD, RDM, WHM tank party and it was ridiculously easy. It may have been slightly more difficult with two PLDs instead, since he can't be slowed or elegied, but he's really not bad. If your tanks have any experience with Khimaira, you'll be fine.

Make sure all DDs come on either SAM or /SAM, and tell them not to be stupid. Bring 2-3 good stunners, too.

If you control how much TP you feed it, /nin should be fine. Melee should just run in and WS, or better yet, be on a different job. Rngs do good damage, but too many rng = too much tp. More blms are good.

We had 2 stunners when we did it, me on blm, the other on drk because we only brought 11 or so. A couple times we had long periods of it not using fulmination, got itchy trigger fingers waiting, and stunned random other TP moves. I think that happened from 50%-25%, since we didn't have too much damage, and therefore he wasn't using TP moves as often. There's a way to position it so that mages can avoid fulmination due to a height difference, however the cliff that the mages stand on either has a dip or is sloped (I forgot), so make sure they stand on the higher parts of the ledge.

RNG is no doubt best damage on him, we use SMNs too. Make sure you have a couple people to stun Fulm < 50% and he's pretty easy, as for tanks we use PLD/NIN x2 fine, you will know when he is about to use Tourbillion because he raises his wings

Just wanted to give an update that my linkshell completely won both ZNMs ^_^ I know it's been done 1000 times before but I wanted to say thank, it couldn't have been done with this information.

Went with two paladins and a ninja. Missed no fulmination stuns, and the worst thing that happened was freak CE moments where he was all over the place.

    Thanks again

I'm currently planning a Tyger fight and had a few questions. I've never personally fought him, neither has my LS. I think we have the tanks under control and the DD's shouldn't be a problem either.

We have a few SMN and they always ask which types of BP to use on things. Physical or Magic. I was just wondering which one was more beneficial for this fight with all factors considered. For example, Physical bp's will give it some TP but if Magic based ones do crappy damage maybe they'd do better. Which type did your SMN's find to be most effective?

I should also note that I've never leveled SMN so I don't have first hand experience on the job. I've heard that magic based BP's suck but... I just wanted to ask anyway.

Any information would be most helpful ^^

Pretty sure all BPs feed 0TP.

    Use Spinning Dive/Predator Claws.
