Salvage Alexandrite Distribution

I'd like a system that allowed me to get as much as possible without being unfair.

I've heard of groups that allow one person to take all Alex but give up on armor drops. I am considering this, but I'd really like a few key pieces for my sets.

Most seem to just split it evenly. I don't want this if I'm leading the group, as it's going to give a small amount of gil to everyone but extend my Mythic timeline out far too far.

Just split evenly, yes it takes longer, but Mythic/relic is suppose to be a long process unless you have the gil to back you up.

You want to run it fair but all the things that you wish for makes it unfair for everyone else.

0-1, Sometimes the occasional sack of alexandrite, but usually 0. Though we usually only run with 12~. Usually 0, and sometimes, I cry alittle about it cause I want some clink clink.

It's completely and utterly random, none of the NMs or bosses are guaranteed to drop any of the purses. One week you can kill a dozen NMs in Bhaflau or Zhayolm and boss and end up with maybe 20 Alex if you're lucky (total, not per person). Or you can do Arra the week after and kill three qiqirns, chariot and boss and end up with 150. Linen purses off bosses can contain 52-100 Alex and Cotton purses off NMs 4-20 according to Wiki. As is normal for law of averages I remember usually seeing about a dozen alex per cotton purse and 60-70 off linen.
In my experience the bosses and NMs have about 20-25% drop rate on the coinpurses with TH4, usually see at least one purse per run and a Linen purse twice a month (I do salvage twice a week).

Now come on. I'm not saying that. I'm not going to do anything that isn't fair, and I know some other people do Salvage solely for the purpose of getting a Mythic so I was just getting some opinions. Sorry I worded a few things incorrectly, need to worry a bit more about how I say things on web forums.

If I had a close-knit salvage group you bet your ass I'd push for the mythic upgrader to get all the alexes. If you're doing it with a bunch of people who are just there for the gear and alexes and not really your friends then yeah, splitting would have to be the way to go. I'm not a very selfish person though and alex are so frickin cheap compared to, say, dynamis currency (or at least SHOULD be sold cheap so we can get more mythics out there) that it's not even worth it to hold up a mythic that's being seriously upgraded.

I would, however, be pissed if the person upgrading bailed halfway and sold all the alex himself.

Really close knit group that have been playing together since day one so its pooled together for mythic upgrader. Realistically split seems the more sane approach for 95% of groups.

SSR and Zhayolm NMs are 100% drop on coin purses, if you're just doing Hammer-Powder-GG3-CC, you're gonna see like 40 Alex, absolute minimum. If you're killing the boss also, I would guess you're gonna average in the 70-75 range per SSR clear.

As for the whole "if your group is tight, you'll help someone upgrade a mythic" bullshit, I don't buy it. If your group is tight, not a single person should accept that, because they are just screwing over their friends in order to get shit for themselves. Unless members of your group have no need for gil, I don't see why you wouldn't split it. If someone really thinks it's worth their while to make a Mythic,let em buy it, and you can buy gear for your 2nd or 3rd job. Then again, if your group all has every upgrade/hq/etc that they can get off the AH, who cares I guess, let someone get all the Alex for a mythic...

Well Dynamis is free to enter when you think about it. 500k to enter and walk out with 5m each run. So if anybody is dumb enough to let somebody sponsor dynamis you might as well let somebody sponsor a mythic.

For my group, we dont hand out any Alex. We sell all to help pay for body Ingots.
