its not the gil factor for some people, its about speding the 3 mil elsewhere other than 2 acc. for example Imperial Woots ingot x 3

I guess that's the difference between good player and crap ones. The crap ones go for gear that's only good in ... merit party .. on bird camp. The good ones have their inventory filled with 70 items that they can use anywhere. I mean def -12 is so much better than agi+3 dex+3 vit+3 in dynamis and 75% of endgame event you'd do on SAM. The only exception would be Einherjar, lol-hnms, sea farming etc. But then, sniper+1 is probably the 3rd best option at best doh.

I know it's been said by a few people at least, but not so clearly.

When you got any Two-Handed weapon, especially a relic, which all come with a native +20 Accuracy.... If you're not already capped on Accuracy, you're damn near close to it, and as you approach that cap the scale shifts so much that the 2 accuracy difference isn't even a 1/2 of 1% of an increase.

And a correction, a minor one, but it's not a difference between 3 dex, 3 Agi, 3 Vit, and -12 Def with +2 accuracy; its actually +3 Dex +3 Agi, +3 Vit, and +12 Defense, and arguably =~3,000,000 gil, when compared to only +2 accuracy.

For me personally, that ring is also +2 inventory, it replaces a breeze ring, adroit ring, and sniper ring.

So, in the end I got +3 Dex, +3 Agi, +3 Vit, +12 Defense, +4,000,000 gil AND 2 inventory slots, I think I got a better deal than a mere 2 accuracy. Well, more accurately, 2 acuracy, 2 Dex and 2 Agi only on SA & TA respectively.

By that logic I should have gotten a Sniper's +1 for my MNK over Usukane body, just because the Sniper's +1 was cheaper.

That logic fails on so many levels. Just because you scrimp and save for years to get a relic doesn't mean you have gil falling out of your ears.

Amano is a clear and strong upgrade. Sniper's +1 over pretty much any other option is a marginal upgrade.

Actually, heh. By my reckoning, gil for gil, Shura Togi → Usukane Haramaki is more efficient than Sniper's → +1. You made the right call.

Looking just at accuracy, sure, the Usukane gains +1 acc at the cost of 1,920,000 gil while the HQ ring would have been +1 acc for 1,660,000 gil. But that ignores the STR+8, Store TP, and since it allowed you to have a complete set... So, yeah.

We're only in disagreement if you misunderstand what I mean. I'm not saying that a less costly upgrade is always somehow better than a more costly one. I'm saying that if someone can afford two upgrades, then he should purchase the one that presents a higher marginal benefit first, and then the other one. And some upgrades trump others regardless of nominal price because their efficiency is through the roof, e.g. Hagun for Samurai, sourcing from your own writings. :D

You totally didn't even grasp the concept of my post. The point is, who the hell says something isn't gimp because "You don't need sniper's ring+1 in dynamis." I could come naked drk to dynamis with just my tred and most likely have good acc, they aren't that hard to hit. (Exaggeration maybe, but hey, you get my point.)

I liked the model of it though. It was all greyish and whiteish. If the old sniper+1 model was still around, i would've been tempted to get it, but you know me, i rocked the T ring anyway since it looked ugly afterwords so who cared?!
