Fellow XP While Level Capped

I've been told various things, and the wiki is ambiguous (as always). When your NPC level is higher than your current level, i.e. a lvl 65 NPC called by a lvl 50 player, your NPC caps at lvl 50. However, will the NPC still earn XP when capped at the lower level? Also, how much xp do EP-DC mobs grant?

I've heard lots of stories reporting a change in the reported "tnl" by the NPC, but I've never heard of an NPC dinging while level capped.

Was it while you were killing, or on the first kill? If memory serves correctly, if your npc levels from the xp bonus from doing tactics pearl quest, it will say it levels up after the first kill from when it leveled up in promyvion. Not positive, just throwing it out there.

No idea about the level cap thing to be honest.

Personally, I use my NPC quite often level capped, and tbh I cannot remember a time when she dinged while I was lvl capped.

NPCs get xp and will level up even when they are synched down to your character's lower level. I believe your NPC gets XP based on how the mob would con if uncapped, but I haven't done the math to check. Seems right though.

So, if your NPC is level 40 and you take it out on a level 10 job, he'll get no xp, but if you take him out on a level 30 job, he will.

That was the impression I got as well. My NPC is lvl 68? and I've been using it a lot to speed up lvling subjobs with FoV. I'm not convinced it's doing my NPC any good (though I am getting a lot of fellow points).

on my new char, my higest was rdm44 and i believe i leveled my npc upto 50 or so by PLing, hope it shows something
