Update on the above (the HDTV gaming setup is still the same, although I've cleaned up some of the junk around it that you see in the pic):

Just recently upgraded ServerBox, and when I did I split the fiber into two segments instead of one long one so I could put the server in a corner of the kitchen and out of my bedroom.

Changed PSU to a Corsair 650W because it didn't need that TT and it's quieter, and exchanged all of the HDDs. Setup a Raid 6 with 8 1.5TB drives for my Virtual Library on an Areca ARC-1251 card with 2GB of RAM onboard and the battery backup module so I could enable write caching and write through. Read/write speeds are awesome.

What do you mean wrong camera?

D300s is more badass than any 7D or similar out there

I bought it originally for stills, but the video is good enough to make me want to use it regularly, and since the built in mic sucks...

I'm gonna get an 7D pretty soon, I like the look of it because of the ability to change various framerates, and having a few older manual focus canon L series lenses.

Only thing holding me back is cropped sensor, but you just have to remember that whatever lens you use is x1.6 the actual value (50mm > 85mm~)

External mic seems like a good idea but I wont be able to afford one for a while. Gonna be blowing most of my current cash on a decent zoom and CF cards/case.

I originally went with Nikon to use their older lenses. Now I'm purchased pretty far into the F-mount, I think I have like 6-7 primes, all metal, wonderful things.

The 50mm f/1.4 manual focus is all that was used to shoot the Youmacon videos I posted.

Yeah 50mm on DSLRs seems to be the most popular lens for shooting videos. I've seen a lot of good stuff on vimeo shot exclusively on 50mm primes and it doesn't cease to amaze me.

I have 3 telephoto 2.8 zooms but nothing that goes lower than 25mm so I'm probably gonna have to buy a tiny 16-35mm if I wanna shoot really wide, or go even wider and get a 7mm fisheye or something crazy.
