I started my FFXI career when Ps2 version came out , I still Lived in NA zone,
I been living in Spain for 3+ years, and settled now.
Now the problem is , everytime i have to update my CC payment info anythin of the kind, it wont take my password or ID from PC- XBOX- EVEN EU PS2<yes i tried>, so i had to literally break apart my ps2, thanks god i brought it with me, buy a voltage converter and conect it to a TV <looks b-w> to be able to update any of this, everytime for whatever reason i needed to <late payments, change CC,etc> . As we all know SE customer support fails big time. Tried contacting them etc and they just give me stupid excuses just like a GM would in game. So if any have planed to move to a diferent time zone,,,,, take this as experience,and as for me , all i can say is.
Dear Ps2 , never break.

I played on the same big-box PS2 since the NA PS2 release. I never expected my PS2 to outlive my account, BUT IT DID!!!

Loading expansions onto it towards the end was something of an endurance challenge, and it did glitch out on me a fair number of times, but it really wasn't that bad overall. I really only remember three game-destroying glitches from my time in FFXI. The first was during the dDOS attacks (2004-5?), so that was not related to my PS2. The second was when I'd load up in certain areas and just R0 immediately, but still be able to run around and my final position would be saved for the next time I logged in. I think that one ended up being related to how Comcastic my connection was somehow. Finally was the Whitegate NPC dialogue glitch, where my PS2 would freeze if I tried to talk to NPCs. That one was PS2 onry.

Though many others complained of it, I never had trouble with inside-sea or Aerns at all.

PPS. To keep it relevant, it's probably due to the fact that you're trying to change the credit card info for your US account from Europe. I'm going to go out on a limb and assume that while your X-box and PC are smart enough to tell what country they're in, your PS2 is not and just knows that it's NA coded. If you have a really really good friend in the states, you could also just call the US and have them change your info for you. Or you could ask all those RMTing UAE guys how they do it, because they doubtlessly deal with this problem all the time (possibly just use NA PS2s.)

I don't understand what your problem is...why don't you just download a NA POL Viewer(free) from Playonline website and use that to update your information? On PC, you were probably trying to use a different region POL. You cannot update your NA account information from an EU playonline, but like I said before POL viewers are free. EU Playstation won't work as well, since you'd be usng an EU Viewer.

I have the European version of the game, currently living in the US and never had any problem wtih updating the game/billing information.

Also, SE customer service will help you in these kind of situations. Just make sure you have a long distance call card since you have to contact the NA customer service and ask them to update your information for you. I don't recomment this method since long distance calls are costly and downloading PoL Viewer method is free/fast/convenient.

Been there , done that doesnt work,or im doing somethin wrong,
I installed the NA version and didnt work, and my friend who plays on PC on NA had the same POL problem i was havin when i sent him my info to do it. I had a diferent friend that he was able to FROM a ps2, not PC. helped me once. but i gotta do it on my old ps2 when he is not avaliable. <wasnt rly a rly good friend but offered to help at that time>.I wouldnt post this here if the problem was so simple
to solve.

This is what your problem is. You cannot log into the service centre of an NA account with an EU pol, or vice versa. Download the NA one.

we posted at same time,, was trying to explain my conclusion was it had somethin to do with ps2 na, not region problem couse this solution does not seems to work , for myself.
