John Boyega is set to headline and executive produce The Book of Eli, a TV series prequel to the 2010 post-apocalyptic action film that starred Denzel Washington in the title role, Deadline has learned. Boyega will play younger version of Washington’s Eli in the project, which hails from the movie’s writer, Gary Whitta, creator/writer/executive producer of the potential series, and its directors, the Hughes brothers, who executive produce. The film’s producer Alcon Entertainment is the studio on the TV project, which is about to be taken out to select premium buyers, I hear.
Oscar nominations came out yesterday. Oppenheimer got the most. No surprise there. But here's a weird thing. Barbie is also nominated for a bunch including Best Picture and Best Supporting Actor: Ryan Gosling. You know who's not nominated? Greta Gerwig the director or Margot Robbie who played Barbie. It's really ironic considering the narrative of the movie.

America Ferrera very much did get a nomination though, I agree Greta should have been on the list but ain't so sure about Margot Robbie. But both chief supporting actors were nominated, not just Gosling.

Jon Stewart is (sort of) returning to The Daily Show. He will host once a week (Mondays) as well as come on as an EP.
We should get great election content.
I still hold that, if he hadn't dipped out just before the 2016 election, maybe, just maybe, we would have had enough anti-bullshit to have tipped things the other way.
Jon Stewart was not going to sway anyone who would have been considering voting for Trump.
It's not like John Oliver wasn't doing the same schtick.
I've got a friend who want Stewart to run
too lazy atm to make a thread for this
Holy shit!! Day one.

love seeing how far he's come from Skins (not that he was bad in that, just nuts to see how several people from that have become big)
Very John Wick-ish. Looks good.
That looks amazing
inclined to agree with this take, nothing against him as an actor of course

Murphy is a great actor but there's a dashing, smoldering quality all the Bonds have had/tried to have and that's just not him.
have you nay seen Peaky Blinders, Murphy can turn on the roguish sex jets when he has to
roguish sex jets is the name of my band
