Dalton only did the two, but The Living Daylights and Licence to Kill are still absolutely better than any of the Moore movies other than Spy Who Loved Me.

AMC Theatres — the country’s largest exhibitor — upped the ante in a major way on Monday when extending the discount to Wednesdays for members of AMC Stubs program, which is free to join (the loyalty program presently boasts 36 million subscribers).

Beginning July 9, 2025, Stubs members can buy a ticket for all releases at 50 percent off the normal adult-evening ticket price. The new policy will commence several days before James Gunn‘s Superman flies into cinemas on July 11 and not long after July Fourth tentpole Jurassic World: Rebirth debuts on July 2.

After teaming with Succession‘s Jesse Armstrong on Mountainhead, the fast-tracked billionaire satire for HBO, and following rave reviews for his work on Saturday Night, Cory Michael Smith has found his first major leading film role in October, a new A24 genre picture from Jeremy Saulnier (Rebel Ridge).

No word on the role Smith will be playing in October. Plot details are being kept under wraps, but sources described the project as a fugitive thriller set during Halloween. Saulnier will direct from his own script, with A24 producing and financing.

FX is nearing a pilot order for a project inspired by Mel Brooks‘ iconic comedy film “Young Frankenstein,” Variety has confirmed.

Exact plot details are under wraps, but the project is currently titled “Very Young Frankenstein.” Brooks will serve as an executive producer on the project along with his producing partner Kevin Salter. Stefani Robinson, Taika Waititi, and Garrett Basch — all of whom worked on FX’s “What We Do in the Shadows” — will also executive produce. Robinson is the writer and showrunner on the project, while Waititi will direct

Denis Villeneuve will direct the next James Bond film, Amazon MGM Studios has announced. Villeneuve will also serve as executive Producer, alongside Tanya Lapointe. As previously announced, Amy Pascal and David Heyman will serve as producers.

“Some of my earliest movie-going memories are connected to 007. I grew up watching James Bond films with my father, ever since ‘Dr. No’ with Sean Connery. I’m a die-hard Bond fan. To me, he’s sacred territory,” Villeneuve said. “I intend to honor the tradition and open the path for many new missions to come. This is a massive responsibility, but also, incredibly exciting for me and a huge honor. Amy, David, and I are absolutely thrilled to bring him back to the screen.
