I'm using Terro liquid on the cardboard pieces they provide. Been replacing the bait every morning so its fresh. Day 3 now and still have scouts running around.

40 dollars for feeding legal poison is enough. I should seriously at this rate just mix napalm and mountain dew and torch the place.

they say it can take a few days for the terro to work, it took about 5 days for me to stop seeing ants around. If the ants are interested you should see them swarming around the syrup, the most important thing is to not get rid of them or spray them-- it's important that the ants are able to carry the poison back to their nests. I'd recommend against swapping out the cards and just adding a few drops more bait to the card, but I'm not sure it'd make that huge of a difference.

Yeah the Terro site says it can take up to 10 days. So I'm hoping thats the case.

The first night I put out the Raidmax (poisonous to animals, etc.) gel baits and Terro Liquid gel baits. There were so many ants you could not see the bait itself. It was literally a black puddle of ants. Was fucking scary when I showed my fiancee lol.

Find the hill; kill the queen. If it works for giant fire breathing ants, your little bitch ants should be no problem.

Since we have a dog and three mischievous cats. I guess we could attempt this on the bathroom floor since the doors are locked/closed. I've seen a few in there (I can't find the exit/entry point in there). We mainly have a problem in our bedroom.

The raidmax paste I mentioned earlier attracts the colony like crazy to it. And they eat it up fast compared to the Terro. But it also seems very ineffective over a 10 day span that I've used it. (I put fresh bait every morning in the areas they move).

Also I've heard those low freq anti-insect tools work at first, but over time the ants and insects become immune to the noise and ignore it. Also I hear its bad to use around pets =/
the low frequency thing does wear off over time, as ants can still communicate through pheromones. (some release when they're crushed to warn off other ants).

and yeah, my guinea pigs hated the low frequency boxes

We got rid of tons of ants by leaving little piles of grits around. Buy a box of quick cook or instant grits and leave some out for the ants to eat. It is food so it is safe for dogs and cats and when the ants eat it they die.

We own 2 acres and there were ant hills all over the place and since we left grits for them haven't seen any ants.

I had an ant problem in the apartment I moved into but was able to take care of them pretty quickly. The first thing you should do is try and locate their hive or where they're getting into your place from. For me, they happened to have a nest in some of the wood under the sink. Some of the access points were around the sink mounting (the caulking had been damaged) and some of the wood. When you've got a good idea of where they live or where they're coming from, buy some Raidmax and flood the fucking shit out of their home. When you've done that, buy some caulk (or whatever other material that you'll need) to seal up their points of entry to contain whatever is left. Lastly, create a defensive perimeter around the area they formerly swarmed with those poison traps they like to crawl into. If they re-emerge by eating their way out somewhere else, repeat the process. Their numbles will dwindle and you will eventually win by attrition.

spray inside and out, along every conceivable entry point for bugs (almost odorless). I live in an apt and spray about once every 3-4 months, rarely see anything inside in the year that Ive been using it

Well the main location they are exiting from in our bedroom is under the lower baseboard (there is a small gap between it and the floor itself). So I'm guessing they are in the wall nested or something?

Also, I guess the ones I'm seeing in the bathroom are coming up along from the warm pipes since its really cold here.

In all seriousness, go down to the local liquor store and buy a couple cans of steel reserve. Pour them into a few bowls and place them where they seem to be flocking to. Ants will be drawn to it due to the sweet smell, and send them selves like lemmings over the edge of the bowl to drown.

I don't have a solution (believe me, I wish I did!), but I feel your pain. I live in an apartment and I HATE ants! Arg! Kill them all!

We get smaller ones here (people call them sugar ants), but I still hate them.

    Horrible, horrible little creatures.

All day I've been using a piece of sticky lint roller paper to squish the ants. I officially just set it on fire in the kitchen sink. DEATH TO ALL.

Ground cinnamon is a godsend. You really need to follow their trail. If you can't, find anywhere they might be getting in or getting water and handle em. It makes your house smell better too Don't use too too much, it's a very efficient/powerful weapon. The best part is that it isn't necessarily the cinnamon itself, so once it blows away or loses it's touch the smell will still be there and strong enough for them to not get around. Give it 3-8 days and they'll be gone for a very long period of time. If it's someone else in your complex, you're gonna need to again in oooooooooooh i'd say 6 months, but it's very cheap and very easy.
