iPhone/iPod Touch Question - Ability to read manga scans?

My current phone is on its knees, resetting nearly once everyday now (but it still works fine!) and I have of course been actively looking for replacements.

One thing that suddenly interest me was after I discovered a folder with a manga in it in one of my hard drives this weekend, I suddenly want to read it, but didn't get too much time to sit in front of the laptop to do so.

Now, as I commute lots, I figured it will be awesome to sit on the train/bus reading this (and others when I find it).

So question is, how good is the iPhone/iPod Touch at "reading" pictures? I want to be able to:

1. Zoom in on bits at will, or set a certain zoom level, so I can finger it around to read bits of the "page"
2. Easy to navigate from page 1 to 2, etc and so on
3. Is there a way/function to "sort" my jpegs into folders/directories? i.e.

[Pic Root]
>[Wedding] > bla.jpeg bla2.jpeg
>[Manga Name]
>>[Manga Volume] > page1.jpeg page2.jpeg ~~
>>[Manga Volume 2] > page1.jpeg page2.jpeg ~~
>[Amateur Sex Pics that I will not send to people or I might commit suicide]

Similar to the Windows Picture Viewer where you can load a pic up in a folder and then click the left/right arrows or tap them on your keyboard to navigate to the next pic in line, I know the iTouch/Phones don't have buttons but I assume there's some sort of screen button that should allow you to do that?

Just need clarification. No one seems to want to show me/lend me their iPhone for a test drive up here.

If you're saving pictures to the iphone/ipod touch (I have one of each), it will put them into the photos directory, so that the photos application will search for them in one specific area. so, as far as I know there's no way to sort them into different directories

with that said, depending on the resolution of the images, it would be a very useful device for what you need it for

Resolution would probably be around 800x1400 (roughly), but still with the touchscreen capability I can see myself finding it easy to read mangas as I can just move it along with my finger.

As for the directories thing, what you described to me doesn't sound good at all, since the potential for 1000+ images to be in one folder at any one time will make it hard to navigate.

I suppose I can try to PDF everything but that might be overkill, and assuming the iPhone can read PDFs... hmm

iPhone lets you have multiple folders. Just have to tell your iphone which ones to sync from your comp. All the folders are in one general directory.

[Pic Root] will be the general directory? While the rest of it can then be further sorted into folders?

Or you can try and get the app call Air Sharing. Basically a "Copy and Paste" for the iPhone. Create folders, where to put the files, etc... Turn the iPhone into sort of a USB.
