Finally got a chance to watch it and I'm really excited. Too bad it did HORRIBLY for it's opening and NBC is already talking about canceling it. -_-
Good followup episode can't wait for next week. was half expecting David's mother being blown up near the end lol.
I still feel like this show is way too epic to be on NBC and their viewers can't appreciate something like this. It should be on HBO or another premium channel instead. I liked last night's episode, and I hope that David does get a little less quiet/emo in the episodes to come. Next week looks full of drama, and alot less like the season premiere which was full of war and tanks and cool stuff blowing up.
Hmm, I've seen this on eztv and some of the torrent sites I've been on but didn't really give it a look, will give this show a shot from all the positive replies in this thread. Network shows just haven't really been cutting it for me lately (other than House, that's about it).
just watch it on hulu, they got the hd ver. too and u dont need to wait for download
High production value, airs prime-time on Sundays, stars Ian Mcshane... NBC presents: I can't believe it's not on HBO.
Any word on how the ratings were for last night? I've got a horrible feeling we won't be seeing more than a few more episodes before it gets pulled. :/
Spoiler: show
this series could go any number of directions, i hope it doesn't get canceled

That would work also, I didn't realize what the show was based on.

I'm not sure about this show after that episode. It could still be really good or it could suck. The religious overtones are a little too "done before" to me, I guess. Still, they could make it really cool, so I'll keep watching. Illegally. Since there's almost no chance it'll come on TV here. lol.![]()
I was a little dissapointed. The setting and drama was really good, the King is an AMAZING actor. But the main character himeslf acted really badly (or maybe it was just a bad script), kinda reminded me of Keanu Reeves. And the stuff his mother was saying made me cringe, while the way the characters were responding to situations seemed too unrealistic.
I'm gonna keep watching it just to see more of the King (Ian McShain?). Hope the other characters get better X_x
edit: 500th post woooo!
So far it would seem the show has recruited some heavy weigh actors who are known for their prowess. The only complaint I have is that everything, plot wise, is too perfect hence unrealistic. Sure, the guy who just got promoted to captain also hooked up with the King's daughter and was subsequently saved a bunch of flyby pigeons from a sniper. The writing needs more depth and I hope it only gets better from here on.
Spoiler: show
mediocre episode at best
Quoted for truth. I really hope they don't cave into viewership and either drag out plots or generally make it crappier. I would be extremely disappointed.
Haven't seen a show this interesting since the first season of 24.
This show, at least to me, is by all accounts meant not for realism but epic poetry. I think you would have a lot more fun watching it as a Shakespearean play rather than an episode of Law & Order.
I feel like the 2 episodes past the pilot have just expanded on the plots discussed in the pilot episodes without much new stuff.. next week looks better I hope
