Well, everything will be tied up one way or another. By the end of the finale all of the plot lines will be closed up, so at least there won't be any unanswered questions. If Silas doesn't die, I think he might go into exile and live with Helen (was that her name?) and Seth.

Ian McShane really makes the show and once he dies or would die I'm not sure I could stand watching a show with pretty boy David in the throne.

I'm going to fucking rage if the season(I guess series :/) finale isn't Silas taking his own life and David taking the throne.

The series finale is called "The New King Part 1/2"

but they had to have finished filming before they knew for sure they would be cancelled so idk if everything will be wrapped up, as well you can have David be "King" without Ian McShane leaving by announcing that David is the heir-apparent, having David see King Silas' spirit (if he is dead), or some other plot device. I could watch the show w/out Ian McShane but I don't think they would kill him off this early and keep going it'd be like killing Bill Adama on BSG.

I was kind of surprised they killed off Leslie Bibb's character. She seemed to be the only one that could go toe to toe with the Queen in the same way David now seems to be able hold his own on screen w/ Ian McShane judging by that last scene the two of them had..

Have you ever heard the statement: "Standing on the wings of an Angel"? Well that's exactly what David was doing at that point. I don't think it was the ark or anything like that I think it fits that quote and nothing else, granted fitting that quote is huge for the story.

Also, I take back my previous statement about not seeing where the story could go after the first season. I wasn't paying enough attention to put the story of King David and David Shepard together until this last episode xDD I'm pissed as hell to know that this show is dead. Hopefully SciFi (Or SyFy as it is soon to be) will pick it up. I think it'll fit their scheduling quite well.

I'm catholic, went to school and all that jazz... but I didnt even know what this was until I watched the Indiana Jones movie. It's the container that's supposed to be holding the tablets of the 10 commandments. The charter could just be an alegory, representative of the tablets and nothing more. An easter egg of sorts

It like the King David story are both Jewish in origin , which would explain why nobody had learned about it until Dr. Jones but yeah previous poster got the jist of it.

I saw the promo text for The New King Part 2, and was mildly upset. Though if they were picked up for another season, it would have worked. Assuming it doesn't turn out completely different than it implies.

I hate NBC, this show is amazing it gets better every episode. It's a shame they will bury it before it had a chance to flourish. And they canceled LIFE, at least that had a semi ending.
