If this will only work on vanilla gear, then why would SE show a picture of Byrnie and Errant robe? lol It's got to have at least a little significance, right? The hand pieces on the Galka look like Royal Knight gauntlets or w/e, which aren't vanilla either. Same for the Z Slacks the mage is wearing (and what looks like errant cuffs). The Galka's great axe could be vanilla though. xD
Hmmm... It's got to be either only available to gear with no current stats, or only available to pre-Lv.70 gear. And if it's the latter, than mages get shit on once again (hauby's will be augmentable, but no decent mage gear would be...). I can only hope it's only available to plain gear.
Btw, I wonder if you'll have to spend merits on augmentations or something... >.> Lol, MP/HP and attribute merits would become obsolete. xD
Awesome, so many questions. This has real potential if implemented properly.
I hope we can Augment our JSE50 piece![]()
This can be good, looks promising enough.
Prz people, don't do the usual "OMG MADE OF WIN" and have expectations really high (as I recon most ppl have...), because if you just wait and see w/o hoping for alot, it usually gets better.
I wonder if the new and never seen before stuff from the FoV pages will be what's required in addition to the armour to augment it.
Perhaps that is the mechanism if I understood correctly. Trade in your e.g. Gambison, fight a certain NM, and then get an augmentation corresponding to the NM you fought.
If the NM system for FoV is as varied as MMM, then you could get a wide variety of stuff from this, but still have limitations on the gear. I'm still worried that SE will be lazy about it, and just create a whole boat load of models with the same name and slightly different stats, than make armour that's truly customizable through this augmentation system, but who knows...
sounds like a good idea,
:D
At least this is a reason to wear some of the never used yet cool looking armors in the game.
Dune Boots.........
I'm going to assume AF, Relic, Salvage, Abjuration, Assault, and Limbus gear is off limits for augmenting.
WOW wtf
If I can make some 3STR 5VIT pants my cannonball build just got better...
Would be interesting to know if you can Augment stats already on items. Like get rid of the DEX- on the Byrnie? I agree with Destinye about not taking the banner literally, but why did they choose such a random piece of gear like a Byrnie? That's a rather underused piece of gear, in my experience.

i still have high hopes for WoE for more end game gear really hope to see that next update.
as well i hope to hell we see outlands this update.
i kinda called this when they mentioned the customizable equipment in Crystalline Prophecy..
i just didnt expect them to allow people to apply it to existing equipment, nor this soon..
Version Update April 2009 seems pretty big. Its practically 'start of expansion' big...
I expect this upcoming update to really shake the game up. Equipment alone is a good place to start.. and they're already set on it.
I bet that Rare/EX stuff can't be augmented, but every normal piece of gear can be and after it's been augmented a 3rd icon (red) is applied to it. That means SH, Hauby, maybe weapons (doubt it) can be augmented. Kickass.
Also, wtf at 2 update notes in 2 days? However now people will act like this is the standard and won't be just happy that we didn't have to wait a week again. I bet the trailer for expansion will be released before the end of the week too, ohoho~
