    PvP question (2v2 war partner + ???)

I was curious as to what partner class makes for a powerful 2v2 composition with a warrior partner. Checking arena junkies.com I see that almost every top ranked combo is a healing class + warrior. Is there anyway to make a double dps comp work with warrior? I'm not really fond of healing. However, if a healing class is the only class to have good synergy with warrior, I may just bite the bullet to form a solid arena team with my friend.

If a healing class is the way to go, a suggestion between the four classes (shaman, priest, paladin or druid) + info would be greatly appreciated I'd rather not n00b it up quite so much and the official WoW forums make my head spin with the constant qq'ing.

If a double dps team works, what dps class would work best with a warrior partner?

Not sure if this info is relevant, but my warrior partner prefers a fury spec as opposed to arms spec.

Just judging by rankings, pally healer seems to be the best combo with warriors for 2s right now, followed by resto shaman, but warriors themself are pretty ass in 2s. I've yet to see any warrior comp at all doing well in 2s on my battlegroup.

Warriors are in bad shape in general, as no other class has such a grotesquely limiting mechanic on their damage dealing abilities like Rage is. Combine this with inferior mobility (Intervene bugs!) and snaring and it's a recipe for disaster.

I could have bought an 11 pull and have 1000 gems left over, but all I got was this silly title.

War + Paladin is the only way a warrior works in 2s. Without hand of freedom, you would get destroyed by hunter/DK, mage/rogue, DK/Rogue. Anything with a snare will overtake a warrior's shortcomings without Hand of Freedom.

Resto Shaman and Holy Paladin are both very good options. A lot of the major 2s comps do not use healing reduction effects which gives you an upper hand against anything that doesn't gib you or your healer outright.

What arena junkies are you looking at? There isn't a warrior in the top 40 in 2v2.

Are you confusing the warrior symbol with DK or Pally?

I do agree that it NEEDS to be either War+Pally or War+Shammy, although I would lean towards pally.

So far in my 2's (we are only 1800) Every war+pally we face we rape as RogueMage. But thats just cause it's weak to our comp.

Not much works with a warrior, it's pretty gimp. Are you new to arenaing or not? If you care alot about breaking 2k and getting full arena gear and getting titles and being on top of it, then I'd be careful about doing it with a friend ;p I missed out on a 2300 team this season cause I wanted to do it with a friend... Now I'm stuck at 1800 in boths 2's and 3's.

3 Major 2 comps are Rogue+priest, Rogue+Mage, and Hunter+Pally, you will run into tons of them, and they do infact use healing reduction effects. Might change in 3.1 though.

Warriors are at a bad place in PvP right now.

But yes, basically for warrior to work... you're going to have pair up with a healer. Paladin is your best bet, resto shaman is the second best bet. Druid healers aren't too great for PvP right now, and same follows for disc priests.

I probably should have clarified what I meant there when I said top ranking combo. I meant top ranking combo with a warrior as part of the team comp, not overall top ranking 2v2 teams (I know that those spots are held by a lot of combo's, though pally seems to be common among those combo's ^^).

I am completely new to the arena scene and figured I would try to give it a shot with my friend. Realistically I don't think I'll ever have the best 2v2 team out there but I would like to stand a fighting chance and maybe progress enough to get around the 2k mark. If it isn't possible with a warrior partner, maybe I can convince him to pick up one of his alts. I appreciate all of the replies, thanks everyone .

I used to be really good at WoW pvp on my paladin. Then I quit playing for about a year and a half. I've been playing with a friend (very little) who is an amazing war, and we were playing at like 1750 level. I "officially quit" my paladin a few weeks ago, and have been bugging said warrior to play with a friend of mine the whole time.

The other friend is a new pally, he was one of the best mages I've ever seen. He's had his pally at 80 for like 2 months now, fresh from 0 starting in WotLK. He keybinds better than me, and is much better as a result now at quick reactions and all that stuff. He simply lacks the experience to know how to handle certain fights.

Despite all that, I finally got the war to play with him, and they got 1950 the first or 2nd day. Lost a bunch to double dps back down to 1850, then won back up to 1930. So, yeah, it's definitely doable. They'll probably be in the 2200+ range with a couple weeks of experience together. Granted, that war is one of the best you'll ever see, and it's still hard for him, it's doable for sure.

Then again, he was playing with a Merc Glad pally for a while and sitting in 1800-2k range, the pally started playing with a hunter and was 2400 the next week lol.

In TBC getting 2k+ was easy for me, but now it's hard for me to stay in the 1800's and i consider myself to be a really good player. A lot of the times when we fail in 2's, or 3's, I can't help but blame my partners, but they are friends so whatever.

Having aspirations of getting 2k+ are great, good for you. But if you are new to the scene, and going to use a combo that doesn't easily faceroll people without the PVE weapons and the 700+ resil, you are going to have a tough time getting to 1700 even. Just stack up that resil, and it'll come in time. It seems that even if you lose as often as you win, your rating still goes up. So play 100+ games a week and you will eventually get pretty high rating.
