Looking at the FFXI entry on Wikipedia it shows that it was posted on February 12th, 2009 by a user who was not logged in. Looking at that other wiki, they had the same thing placed into their page on the same day 5 minutes previously by the same IP address.

It was then picked up on a site called "Radio Signet" on a post dated February 17th, 2009, but only reporting the Wikipedia posting. Next siting is on a site called "My Good Game News" on February 22, 2009.

This is all that my Google search turned up, nothing even close to proof. Unless some JP interview shows up, this looks like a case of "Paralyzed Weaponskills" to me.

No no. It is fairly brilliant. You see, the devs are going to read the wiki and see this, they are going to be in a panic because if it is on a wiki it must be true so they will quickly get to work on it. It is a fantastic strategy, and I applaud the person who came up it.
