I was watching a couple of commercials and I began nostalgia tripping. I figured it would be a neat idea to make a thread for it. There's plenty I want to show but don't come to mind right now. The only ones off the the top of my head are war themed... >.>

AC2 Intro was always a favourite of mine. Music, graphics and animation are all really good. Actually, most AC games have cool intros.

Another vote for CC, I didn't even know they could do graphics like that when it came out, I remember just letting the intro run over and over

Surprised these didn't come up already, well maybe except for Homecoming, but it's definitely my second favorite to 2, the song is awesome.

Also, to be typical and cliche, I still get goosebumps any time I see the intro of FF7. It was my first RPG, so it's hard to forget, even if I'm in the camp that it wasn't as good as a lot of people make it out to be.

SOUL BLADE:

This is the first, and maybe only, intro that I could recall watching multiple times in a row every time I booted the game up. I was severely disappointed the first time I saw Soul Caliber's opening cinematic, since it couldn't hold a candle to its predecessor's.


WILD ARMS:

I still whistle that tune in my head every now and then.


FF7:

This is probably nostalgia talking more than anything else, but there was something truly epic about the intro. The sound of Aeris's footsteps as she walked out from the alleyway was unlike anything that I had previously experienced in a video game, and it signaled the ushering in of a new era for my favorite game series. The whole thing just struck a chord in me that, to this day, still makes me a shiver a bit.


CHRONO CROSS:

Great music, great effects, and really set the tone for the entire game. It gave me a sense of what was coming without being a spoiler. Thank Jesus that this game didn't have voice acting! Useless personal fact: The track in the intro helped cure me of insomnia!

Edit: Forgot Xenogears and FFX. Man, the PS1 sure did have a lot of good intros.

Mostly because before P3 SMT games were pretty niche/hardcore. Even though I played Nocturne and DDS, I don't remember much about their intros.
