    Sartharion 3drake 10

My guild has been trying this encounter for sometime now ,but we just can't seem to get this down. So i was wondering what everyone elses group comp for this fight is if you've downed it or are progressing on it.

We usually go with 3 tanks

    Dk - sarth tank
    warrior - drakes
    pally(me) - adds

    heals - druid shaman paladin

DPS we try to stack the best rangfed dps we have on at the time.

Just wondering what anyones raid setup is for this encounter as we are trying to figure out where we need to switch it up at.

Well, since there are a myriad of problems that could occur, you need to describe what goes wrong, what exact dps make up you use, if they're flasked, potioned, fed, able to dodge fire walls, if adds are killing people, if people are pulling aggro etc. There are tons of different group make ups that have downed this ranging from 2 tanks 2 healers 6 dps to 2/3/5 3/2/5 3/3/4

My guild was doing the 3/3/4 last week.
Druid MT, pally Drake tank, pally adds tank (or DK)

DPS is usually hunter, elemental shaman, DK and I think ret pally, don't remember.

Healers are holy pally, disc priest.

    Several "main" problems were...

the first drake would die at about the same time 2nd set of adds spawn (all dps is over 3K)
this would result in adds tank dying.

Druid tank either ability or skill can't seem to pickup adds well.

We don't have any rogues with any form of remote interest in doing the encounter so... if we get several enraged elementals, the add tank tends to be raped, especially with all the little drakes on him.

So... its either the adds tank has a 50/50 chance he gets 2nd set of add drakes and dies, or enraged elemental death while tanking a set of adds. We do have 1 hunter, but 8sec tranq shot and the dps loss of targeting an enraged, and switching back would lead to a much higher chance the first drake isn't down before 2nd set of adds/3rd drake down.

We don't have much flexibility in the group comp because not many show interest, although some have started to as were 1 achievement away from drakes. I guess more will want to go when actually get the achievement

Trying to convince my group to do 2tank/3healer or 3tank/2healer instead of 3/3 but eehh.. ;/

elemental shaman offers no synergy with a primarily melee composition. Depending on your DK spec, the DK would be the only one to benefit. You'd do better with 4 "casters" or 4 "melee" that offer buffs to each other.

Who's the 3rd healer and who are you assigning to who?

3k dps against tenebron? If so that's extremely low with heroism in a ~45 second fight. Our mage pushes over 5-6k on tenebron.

If the druid is the main tank, then they shouldn't be picking up adds at all.

This definitely is one of the harder parts of the fight, since fire adds have +100% damage until the 2nd drake dies.

Our biggest issue on this fight was our Drake tank(prot war) getting instagibbed with Vesperon/Shadron up. We tried everything to minimize this but could never come up with a valid solution.

shield wall/last stand/shadow potion. That used to be an issue we had to deal with too. HAVE to pop cooldowns on those 2 drakes.

Well the elemental shaman is the one that setup the 'static" so he has to come basically/gets people to go

I don't recall who the 3rd healer is/was... think it was a resto shaman though last attempt

Its basically... disc prist on MT, holy pally on drake tank, shaman on raid chain heal from last attempt I recall

    3 tanks
druid MT sarth, DK or pally on adds (used to have a 2nd druid which would do adds but that didn't work well) and a prot pally drake tank.
The prot pally had no problem tanking 2 drakes, but having a 3rd soorta rapes him.

I'm trying to convince them to do 2 tank 3 healer considering the drake tank can survive 2 drakes + some adds even just fine, have everyone stack on the tail of the drake, and have the DK deathnDecay spam out in the open/near sarth MT to pull adds to him -> into drake tank consecrate to be killed/tanked. But they want 3 because the adds tend to not really come off the healers unless you taunt it off

I'll have to see what kinda dps was goin out next time, think it was 3-4K maybe 5k's with bl dps though for everyone. its been awhile, were doing 1 run this coming sunday since its the next time we will have people to do it.

Also, took us a while to get this but once the first drake is down and you have adds down and 2nd/3rd drakes under control, pop Hero on the SECOND drake. Huge difference, especially if you're comfortable enough getting Tenebron down without hero.

I did it twice with 2 tanks(druid on sarth, pally on drakes), 2 healers(disc priest + Resto shaman), & 6 DPS with a DK tanking adds. The healing is pretty intensive when whelps spawn and during twilight torment, but we have an ele shaman in resto gear that heals for those parts too. Theres not much you can do to avoid the double breath insta-gib, it happened to me numerous times, its just a crappy rng part of the fight.
I also did it just recently with a VW tank on sarth, warrior on drakes and pally on adds with 2 healers(resto druid + holy pally) & 6 dps.

The biggest problem we keep running into is twilight torment being up and our healers not always being able to keep up with it on dps hitting themselves until atleast shadron is dead. I guess our healers just need to step it up.

On another note has anyone tried the voidwalker tanking method?

    Our win was the following:

    Tanks:
    Druid (Sartharion)
    Warrior (Drakes)
    Deathknight (Adds)

    DPS:
    Rogue
    Enhancement Shaman
    Warlock
    Mage
    Ret Paladin

    Heals:
    Shaman
    Paladin

What we do to deal with twilight torment is the enhancement shaman threw up chain heals whenever possible, and helped heal inside of portals. The ret had his LOH button incase he needs to save somebody. I was mainly on the add tank and the dps. Pally healed Druid and the drake tank. We took the adds and just stacked it ontop of the 2nd drake and didn't have any AOE. we just had people use their aoe-ish abilities while they dps'd down the drake. Eventually the adds fell and then we sorta had it under very good control. 2nd drake died seconds after the 3rd landed.

With the exception of our first kill, we always go 2 Healers, 3 Tanks, 5 DPS. For the DPS it's either an all melee group, or an all caster group. Heals are always a Druid with a Priest or Paladin. When it's time to go into the portal to kill the two add's inside, the Shaman always heals the tank in there. Other then that, it's a DPS race and just make sure to take it easy on the third drake so you don't kill yourself through the damage shield.
