iirc he was supposedly the best player on the team until he graduated. But no idea if that was true or not.

MIT
It's not as nerdy as some people make it out to be. OK, maybe it is, but at least it has close to a 50-50 m/f ratio which is better than almost any other tech school as well as close proximity to lots of other colleges in the area. It's got a pretty good party scene too (~50% of the male population is in a frat or independent living group), but the school's unofficial maxim definitely holds true: Work, Sleep, Social Life: Choose 2.
Went to RPI, primarily an engineering school. I'd highly recommend it, aside from the 40k+/yr tuition
Great times

Honours Bachelor of Arts as an English Specialist (oooOoOoo)
I would recommend it more for science/math students as it seems to be centered around those subjects the most. It isn't for people who like a lot of one-on-one time with their profs either since class sizes are usually quite large, though I usually took night courses so I had somewhat smaller and more mature classes. Think there's some 80k students there but I don't know if that number has increased much. It's a great campus, though. It's huge and it's downtown meaning you can get anything/everything you want, and it's by Kensington/Chinatown so there's a lot of cheap goods.
By far I think one of the best things about the school are the benefits. I didn't much take advantage of them while I was in school, unfortunately, but they even have a large amount of extras for U of T alumni, which I do take advantage of (career counseling, free course at the School of Continuing Studies, volunteer/jobs, etc.)
^ canada's top school imho
You a student at UGA?
Other states have equivalent HOPE programs but they aren't as established. Its amazing what HOPE has done for UGA in the last ten years. The SAT's scores and quality of students increased tremendously as smarter kids have a huge incentive to stay in state and go to UGA. The quality of programs here have increased greatly.
It's kinda messed up though when you read the studies... Since HOPE is funded by the GA Lottery, it's the poor black people who pay for the rich white kids to go to school. Oh well, the lottery is just a tax on the stupid .

I am a senior in Computer Science. It was formally Polytechnic University before July 1st 2008. (NYU Merger). At $27k/year (maybe more now I sign a contract to not rise my tuition) the school is a pain but you learn a lot. I don't dorm thank god. The college life is different for everyone. Since I live in NYC I have my outside life and in-school life. If you hang out with the right people you will have a blast tho. After being in this university for these many years you will (a fact) become a bit weird. Overall it is a good school for Engineering and Sciences (also math if you like studying Number theory)

-God awful city where you won't be able to escape the stench of garbage.
-Crime rate is ridiculously high, the next city over is where I work..and that city is the worst in the state in terms of murders per year.
My professors/student body in community college were a lot better and enjoyable to be around.
Necroooooooooooooo BUMP! But, I just wanted to remind everyone that it's college colors day so wear your college colors today!
My Gamecocks stopped NC State last night on ESPN!

I'm confused though, at 7-3, were they playing baseball or football?
Don't hate on the ol' ball coach.

Also, I don't have time to read through whole thread atm, but really:
Where do you live? I'd suggest just going to the best state school you can get into, if money is any sort of a problem. Out of state tuition is expensive as hell. If there's a really good out of state school that's great for your major, then I say, go for it, especially if you can get scholarships and stuff, it's going to be way more expensive, but if it's worth it to you, then it will be worth it.
Edit: GOD DAMNIT LBELLE THIS IS AN OLD TOPIC ARFDSFHDS
It's tooooooooo hot to wear blue, and i don't think i have any orange![]()
