    SUNY Geneseo.

Out in the middle of nowhere, and at the time sported a 3:1 girl:guy ratio.

    Heaven.

University of Alabama - i went through GI Bill...so i only paid for last year of school.

fiance got a bio degree from Pitt and a zoo tech degree from Sante Fe C.C. in FL...she has about 50-60k in school loans she's paying back now. definitely look at the area you're gonna go to school and think about part time jobs and things of that nature...unless you're going to live off your school loans, which i really wouldn't recommend.

    I like you.

UW-Platteville grad here (and big UW Badger fan). I did the community college thing too but got screwed on credits because different amounts were accepted between Illinois and Wisconsin. I lost 9 credits overall but it wasn't too big of a deal to just pick up a couple easy classes to pad the ol' GPA. Just something to keep in mind if you are transferring from a school in one state to another is that if you graduate from a CC with an associates degree or something is that usually wipes out your need for any general education classes like composition, history, etc. But don't assume they will accept all your credits.

I think there is still main concern about what major is OP going for? Since that none of the school can have equal quality in all of the major field that they offered.

oh btw, until fall 2007 I'm still at SUNY Buffalo, but currently at MTU.

Savannah campus. I'd kill to go back.

Ridiculously expensive. I had a lot of scholarships - nearly $100,000 worth - and still took out loans.

    Worth every penny.

UMBC, the "no party" smart school partner to UM college park. good school for furthering yourself if you're a big dork and are actually going to build a rocket to another planet in a neighboring galaxy, I went because I got a scholarship I do recommend the 2year community college + 2year university route though, money is always important. The comment about having good teachers/professors is true, what I see more in (my experience) of community college is the female professors who have family considerations and work around that.

One of the top 10 engineering colleges in the US... if you want that route. I wish I could go back to college... 7 years since I had that kind of fun. Campus always got kind of crazy every time the 'pack won though... especially for those of us blessed/cursed with coed dorms.

    RPI in Troy, NY.

Atmosphere: Nerdy, but not as painfully so as places like MIT or CMU (Carnegie Mellon, not Central Methodist). People had personality and a definite work hard/play hard attitude. And fewer monitor tans.

Cost: Way high. Scholarships are made of win and awesome. Think the year I graduated full tuition/room/board topped $45k, of which I paid about half.
