I went to George Mason (BS- Marketing '00, MPA in '05). It's twenty minutes outside DC in Virginia. It's very reasonable if you're in-state, and even acceptable if you're out of state. Very diverse, very up and coming. Not the greatest social scene, but who needs a frat house when you can go out in DC? Some snips from wiki:

-U.S. News & World Report ranked George Mason University #1 in its new category of Up-and-coming National Universities, 2009.
-4th most diverse university in the nation, by the Princeton Review in 2008.
-8th in the world political economy, 30th in public economics by econphd.net.
-The School of Law is ranked 38th in the nation by US News & World Report
-30th in the nation graduate Public Policy program by US News & World Report

decent undergrad business, too- ranked 74th by US News in '09

Also we went to the Final Four woohoo!

Wow, didn't think there'd be another Geneseo grad on this board. I do miss the girl:guy ratio, I do not miss walks across the tundra (before they put housing in there that is).

At UPenn now for grad school, should be finishing up this summer and moving on to the NIH.

I go to Alfred University here in western NY. One of the best ceramic engineering schools in the country. Also have a very solid art program. Parties/chicks are nothing to write home about though... at least you'll be studying though rite, RITE?!?

I'm a gator. UF is a "party school" by some standards, but it's also really good if you're into studying and stuff too. Their communications program is one of the top in the nation, and I'm sure they're up there for some other majors as well. But I think if you're not a FL resident then it's pretty pricey.

Savannah campus. I'd kill to go back.

Ridiculously expensive. I had a lot of scholarships - nearly $100,000 worth - and still took out loans.

    Worth every penny.
    Pretty much hate you =(

Beatiful area, great school. Wish I could have went.

I went because it is a gorgeous campus and after scholarships/financial aid, was cheaper than the UC schools I applied to and USC.

Don't go if you don't enjoy being heartbroken by your football/basketball teams year after year.

    Cornell University

From about the time classes start until classes end, you won't see the sun or grass unless it's Parents' Weekend, Orientation, Pre-Freshmen Days (when the high schoolers or newly accepted come to visit).

I'm actually going to miss philly a lot, I came here for a particular group of labs and the fact that I'd be living in a city and it really grew on me. Even though housing is shit (at least what you can afford on a grad student stipend), food entertainment etc. has been very affordable.

Good stuff. I went to USP (we protect you from west philly) for 2 years, decided I wanted to leave, and ended up at WCU to finish my BS. I currently work for Merck as an biochemist, but I've gotta wait a year before they'll start paying for my grad courses.

That'll hopefully give me some time to decide what I want to end up doing for my PhD

How do you guys pay for your schooling? So far I've been living with my mom(jokes aside.) and only had to pay tuition and whatnot. Next semester I gotta pay for housing and a bunch of other shit (SUP 30k A YEAR) and obviously FAFSA won't cover that amount and I need to take private loans. The problem is I have no one that can co-sign. How'd you fags do it?

I never needed to have a cosigner. I'm over 25, for one, and two, my credit was just somehow always good enough.
