That'll hopefully give me some time to decide what I want to end up doing for my PhD
Nice, my girlfriend got contracted to Merck for a while to do some small animal handling stuff, she loved it there and it sounds like a great place to work. Good luck with the PhD decision, I know a lot of people who've been in industry for a time before going to grad school, looking back I kind of wish I had gone that route as I think they were better prepared than most and they tend to develop projects and graduate quicker.

The school is only ten years old, so the campus looks really nice, and the student base has already reached, 10,000. I've heard it's becoming one of the top business schools in the state, but I'm not too sure on that because I'm not a business major.

My senior year (2001-2002) was the first year those Townhouses were put in. I lived on the one closest to (Erwin/Frasier?) Don't remember the building names.

St. Joseph's University in Philly. They used to have a pretty good basketball team a few years back.

Not the huskers, but a decent campus with a nice CS degree platform. Some amazing teachers anyhow

I got a Financial aid loan and my parents paid for my undergraduate. I think my financial aid loan was like 26k. I took out a loan to pay for my graduate degree. I got a job my last 3 years at school to pay for housing and stuff.

    Two reasons:

My dad broke his neck and my mom crushed 3 disks in her neck. Both are currently unemployed, my mother recently.

    ouch

have any credit already? credit card, co-signed on car loan, anything of the sort? If you're old enough and have those, you may not need a co-signer. I think I had to get my student loans co-signed since I was 17 at the time, but when I got my recent car I was able to sign by myself with just student loan credit being present.

If it makes you feel any better, I spent my first year in this shithole:

    http://llnw.image.cbslocal.com/0/200...rsity_logo.jpg

During my interview I told them my GPA and SAT scores, and the interviewer gave me a full-ride scholarship on the spot. He said they had a great art program, so I said "sure, why not?"

I realized later they gave me a full ride because the place is packed with jock morons and whores. Need some smart kids to even things out a bit. After 2 semesters, I was gone. Hated every minute there.

I got $40k in portfolio scholarships, $30k for SAT scores (SCAD gives both of these out to students) the GTEG (georgia tuition equalization grant) is Ga's way of giving the HOPE scholarship to people that go to private schools (HOPE pays all tuition and materials costs for public schools provided you're a Ga resident, and keep above a 3.0 GPA) GTEG gave me another $5k a year. I got another $10k from a Ford scholarship for ASE certified mechanics.

FAFSA took care of the rest, and I worked 45 hours a week as a mechanic at around $18/hr. I also had 4 room-mates, so bills were low(ish)
