Opeth's the best metal band for me. Porcupine Tree, which have some metal-ish songs, is the best band ever for me. Moar:

    A Skylit Drive
    All That Remains
    Amon Amarth
    Arch Enemy
    As I Lay Dying
    Bring Me the Horizon
    Bullet for my Valentine
    In Flames
    Parkway Drive
    Soilwork
Through the Eyes of the Dead
    Trivium
    Underoath

But next to Opeth, I like Devin Townsend (Strapping Young Lad, also solo stuff) the most.

If I were stuck on an island and could only take five metal discographies with me:

    Children of Bodom
    Nevermore
    Dimmu Borgir
    Cradle of Filth
    Strapping Young Lad

I've had all of CoB's disco in my car for like 3 months and it's great. Notable mentions: In Flames, The Crown, Opeth, At The Gates, Soilwork, Iron Maiden, Gamma Ray, Testament, Slayer, Anthrax, Metallica, Megadeth, any of D. Townsend's other work, Dream Theater, Blind Guardian, Emperor, Immortal, Behemoth (newer stuff, never really was into the hardcore bad production shit like early 90 BM), Satyricon, Hypocrisy, Pantera, Corrosion of Conformity, Deftones, Type O Negative, The Haunted, Celtic Frost, Arch Enemy, Shadows Fall and Lamb of God used to be decent, Fear Factory's De/Remanufacture and Obsolete albums, Judas Priest, etc.

    Obev, you rock.

I'm not much for individual songs, as I view albums as an experience/fully visioned art piece. Regardless, albums blessing my ears lately:

Abigor - "Nachthymnen (From The Twilight Kingdom)"
Alcest - "Souvenirs d'un Autre Monde" (kind of black metal meets shoegaze)
    Augury - "Concealed"
    Belenos - "Spicilège"
    Belenos - "Chemins de Souffrance"
    Bilskirnir - "Atavismus des Glaubens"
    Gorguts - "Obscura"
    Hollenthon - "Opus Magnum"
Nagelfar - "Srontgorrth (Die Macht erfaßte das Meine wie die
    Angst das Blut der Anderen)"
    Negativa - EP
Neuraxis - "The Thin Line Between"
    Quo Vadis - "Defiant Imagination"
Primordial - "To The Nameless Dead"
Serpents Rise - Demo material (new Derek Roddy band)
    Spite Extreme Wing - "Vltra"
    Summoning - "Dol Goldur"
    Summoning - "Stronghold"

The Comedown, Chelsea Smile, Diamonds Aren't Forever, Sleep With One Eye Open, and The Sadness Will Never End are the best songs off Suicide Season, so check those out too if you liked what you heard.

Holy shit, these guys are sweet. Chelsea Smile and The Sadness Will Never End are sick. Thanks for the tidbit on these guys, I'm definitely adding them to my top bands. This kind of shit is awesome to work out with.

Three Inches of Blood is great for some hilariously cheesey metal lyrics.
