I'm am shocked and outraged at the lack of mention of grammy winning artists Jethro Tull.

But seriously, I think I'm getting too old. I can't stand most of the metal put out these days. Too much screaming, or a bit too heavy for me, I guess. Do any of these newer bands have more of an 80s metal feel to them? Something like Judas Priest or Iron Maiden as a reference.

Half decent prog band.

Iron Maiden, no doubt. Hard to pick one fav song of theirs, but Wasted Years, the Evil that Men Do, Run to the Hills, Be Quick or Be Dead are on the short list.

Other than that, I dig Megadeth, Anthrax and Slayer, and after that Metallica.

alot of people wouldn't consider them 'true metal' but Dream Theater is another of my favs.

So I saw Bring Me The Horizon last night, holy fuckkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk what an amazing show. Oli really knows how to entertain the crowd. At the very end of the set when the band was exiting the stage he picks up the mic and goes "You know, I don't normally say this but... you guys fucking killed it tonight. Give yourselves a round of a-fucking-plause. Awesome show." The pit was seriously from wall to wall. No one was standing still. It was nuts.

Yeah, ADTR is nothing short of amazing. If you want more good songs of their new album, check out... everything, really =P (except "Homesick", the title track). Some recommendations would be My Life for Hire, Mr. Highway's Thinking About The End, and Welcome to the Family. They're currently touring with TDWP and apparently every night is a sell-out. I wish they would come up to Canada. =( Oh well, I'll see them at Warped in August.
