Joystiq interview: Majesco, WayForward spill the jelly beans on A Boy and His Blob
Best game ever... I hope they do it justice in this version. I'd love a version on XBL.

I know I read in Nintendo Power or something a while ago that its coming for the Wii.
Yeah, sorry. Missed that bit. It's not confirmed for XBL/Arcade, was just saying I'd love to have it. Don't own a Wii, but this is making me think about stealing one to at least give this game a go.
By best game ever surely you mean worst game ever? Oh what fun it is to run out of ketchup jellybeans and have to start over because your fucking blob fell off a ledge! Oh joy, my blob runs at half the speed I do and I invariably have to slow down to wait for him! Oh heavenly goodness, stopping my boy running activates the permanent oil slick underneath his shoes, dropping him into a chasm of instant death! And let's not forget that ripping, dynamic soundtrack!
More like you had no idea what each jellybean did to the blob, you used the wrong ones at the wrong time, never knew where to go. I don't think I ever got passed level 1.
i had a strange fascination with this game for some reason. it really wasn't good at all but it was entertaining.
WayForward is an outstanding developer, so even if you hated or never heard of the original "A Boy and His Blob," there's plenty of reason to anticipate this game. Well, as long as you enjoy platformers, at least.
There's also a big leap from NES-era controls and gameplay to nextgen.
I'm pretty sure you'll have a lot smoother control over your character than back then.
One can hope, but sadly, some times controls are just downright horrible even with today's big leaps made. And I personally haven't heard much of WayForward. Contra 4 is the only game I can say of theirs that I've ever played. I'm not saying they're bad, just probably mostly unheard of.
omg! this game rocks!
I hope its still possible to speed run this game in 6 minutes like you could with the original.
Yea the original was one of those games that almost everyone has played and the concept was great, certainly a game that was ahead of its time... but it's so poorly implemented it's almost unplayable. It reminds me of Altered Beast, which every time it's released on a compilation people are like "OH SNAP ALTERED BEAST I REMEMBER THAT GAME" not realizing that altered beast is one of the weakest action games ever created.
Regardless, the remake looks good.
This game looks so pretty. I am looking forward to it for that alone.

IGN gave it a 7.6, about what I expected. I'd probably be less excited for this if I was planning on paying for it instead of pirating it.
If you happen to be a Best Buy reward zone member, you can print out a coupon online that will get you a $10 gift card when you buy this game in store from Oct. 13-24. Will probably go for that later this week. Never played the original, but I loves me some platformers.
Been playing this for a few hours, it's a decent adventure/puzzle game although there's almost no penalty for dying (you restart just before you died) and most everything I've encountered can be solved with trial and error. It's a pretty game, and the music is really captivating, but it's about as underwhelming as the NES original. I'd say it's a step in the right direction, and it seems like a pretty short game so I dunno about owning it, but if you liked the original you'll probably get some enjoyment out of it.
I'm enjoying it so far. It's not some crazy challenge or anything, but it's a nice game to play while relaxing on the couch.
Boy and his Blob was probably one of the most entertaining games ever on NES.
I'd buy the new one if I had a wii.
