If there's something blatantly illegal going on, and a cop not involved in it finds out, there will be an investigation and an arrest based on procedure, not some vigilante "good cop" who lives to arrest criminals and "bad cops".

And a criminal is a criminal, whether it's a hooker who's just trying to scrape by, or a kid who stole some food because he was hungry, or a guy with an addiction problem. It's not just murderers and rapists that "good cops" are after. You can be an honest cop and still bust all the lowlifes, not just the ones that physically harm other people.

Do you even realize how much crime there would be if there was no form of law enforcement? Just because tools join the police force and act like fucking idiots doesn't mean all cops are bad. One of the hilarious things a cop will do here to people is arrest them, let them get out on bail, then report to the DA the person is not in custody instead of out on bail... They don't even go far to cover it, they will literately scratch out the out on bail part with NIC with a pencil before turning in the report.

Long story short.. the person gets a warrant out for them which the sheriff will pick them up for. Once in jail again, they can't be bailed out because they are already out on bail. That can take a long time to get straightened out, lol.

Why should an officer's response to provocation be important, anyway? You shouldn't be provoking them in the first place.

At least spitting doesn't hurt anyone, and so I would expect the officer to not physically harm you, but some people are stupid enough to actually try to physically "defend" themselves against the police... despite the fact that it's illegal to defend yourself against officers trying to subdue you. Worst case, you could get killed. But if not, assaulting a cop is quite the charge to have on your record.

I never understood why anyone would resist arrest. If it's a mistake, you can explain it later. Nobody ever came out ahead by trying to fight off a cop.
