Is it the same ol' shit still about loving your pokemon and always going up against a rival, who's always the last boss in the game, and always having to trade with friends, er, yourself to get all the pokemon, or have they changed the series yet?

Everything is the same pretty much with the usual addons and changes I've only found the games enjoyable with friends but the friend code wi-fi stuff in pearl and diamond made it much better. I might get this since it's better than diamond and I only have 3 DS games so I need to build my library for that soon.
