I can't see the achievements being that bad. I mean go look at FAQ's that outline "achievements" for all sorts of console games. What do you see? "Solo character walkthrough" "Level 1 walkthrough" "Solo level 1 character with no equipment walkthrough" etc. Obviously the game is meant to be played with people advancing in levels and obtaining gear...

What you're talking about are player-made challenges. I mean, if I'm wrong, by all means, show me, but I've never seen an X-Box or PS3 achievement for a level 1 completion of a game.

Having to leave a random PUG for H Occulus after the rest of the party shows how completely inept they are at listening and following directions for the last boss fight. We wiped twice due to people with bronze drakes spamming stop regardless of the order and also because no one would move away from the floating orbs when the boss would phase shift despite me telling them to move as I watched people still try to attack.

I like Occ and it's not hard at all but god damn that was frustrating as hell to see happen.

On a related note, why have I not gotten the H ToC achievement in a month of running it? Why must people just stand there as six ghouls explode on them? Aargh.

Most people dont know that DBM has the fake raidwarning when ghouls are about to explode, and you know its hard to move 15 yards from something. thats why i just aoe the crap out of them and get them out of the way asap.

related note, how hard is it to dispel hammer of the righteous on eadric, seriously, every priest healer dosnt dispel that crap so i cant get the crappy achievement for it.

Most people dont know that DBM has the fake raidwarning when ghouls are about to explode, and you know its hard to move 15 yards from something. thats why i just aoe the crap out of them and get them out of the way asap.

if you have a DK friend you can trust, icebound fortitude will let you catch the hammer. Just hard to get the timing down, you have to guess a bit.

I try to Dispel the Hammer debuff whenever I can, but I'm so often locked in the middle of a Mind Flay channel or something that I cannot guarantee I'll get it. I was lucky in that respect, though, the very first fight I did against Eadric, someone was smart enough to know how to Faceroll the bastard, so I got that achievement easy.

And, yeah, I think I'm just gonna start killing the ghouls and to hell with DPSing the boss. So what if I'm the highest DPS in any Heroic I join, often by an embarrassing margin? A few extra seconds to collect my damned achievement finally would suit me fine.

Like I said, it requires different strategy for achievement and such, but it's a higher risk. Judging from what I've seen, unless some nerf went into battle fury that I missed, you're running the chance of being oneshot not long after the first mage dies, and even if your cannoneers are super efficient it's going to take at least 3 mages to down the ship.

It's not higher risk at all.

Battle fury stacks when you get hit.

Kiting properly (which is extremely simple) you don't get hit. It never stacks up other than the few seconds at the start where you lock in threat before you start kiting, and then it generally gets to 4-6ish and then drops once you start kiting.


It's really simple, both boats have a big U to kite around, you just rocket pack back and forth between the sides of the U.


Nobody ever has to switch boats, nobody except the home tank takes dmg outside of the landing dmg from the kiting tank's rocket pack.

Here is how the limited attempts work:

• The limited attempts applies only to the following bosses: Professor Putricide, Blood Queen Lana’thel, Sindragosa, and the Lich King.
• The limited attempts are shared between these bosses, so if there are 15 attempts total and your group wipes 5 times on Professor Putricide, you will only have 10 attempts for the remaining encounters.
• The limited attempts has increased this week to 15 and will increase to 20 when the Frostwing Hall opens and more will be added in the weeks following that.

As far as the release of the Frostwing Halls... we'll see soon enough.

If your guild used all 20 attempts last week and the week before failing to kill putricide and need more than 5 this week to kill him I'd worry more about those numbers than whether or not it's fair to only have 10 left on Lanathel

I had shitty pickup, but holy shit, can it possibly get any worse (I was tank obviously). Doing more than all 3 dps combined is a new kind of sad for me.

Alas, being unwilling to give up herbalism for the sake of a sub 100 dps increase from another tradeskill inherently excludes me from guilds who are capable of oneshotting anything past DBS.

Even so, my 10 man group "gets it" on Putricide; we have execution, it's just a matter of numbers at this point, beating both enrages is our shortfall. Just seems unnecessarily cruel to share the attempt pool and forcibly requiring you to either perfect a single boss with the given attempts at the expense of the others or rotate them around in somewhat odd fashions.

Of course I can't complain too loudly, as simply being able to get to Putricide in a single night is already leaps and bounds over the guild I came from, who couldn't even seem to understand the concept of running away from the Deformed Fanatics on Deathwhisper; I wouldn't mind something more progressively capable, but I'm finding the line between a group of people who are good at what they do but don't take it overly seriously and an EJ-level of pseudo-narcissistic behavior about every single guildmember's performance and online schedule too granularly fine to not cross at this point.

I guess this is easier for alliance since it's a bit more obvious.
Battle fury only stacks if he attacks. Engage him and tank him as per usual, get 100k threat then kite him using the rocket pack to jump up,down and around on the 2nd floor of the deck. He wont do his ranged attack and wont build stacks of battle fury. It's so easy.

Our tanks are capable of tanking through 3 battle mages....then they fly back over, and the 2nd tank goes over for the last 2 mages -.- With the achievment you can't fly back and forth on the second ship or it bugs out, i believe.

it only bugs out if you use taunt

and then it doesn't exactly bug, it just triggers his axe throwing, which does stack the buff, and yeah you get owned in the face

They'll get rid of this try bullshit at some point, as it's just a gimmick now so people dont trash through all of their mediocre content too fast. I'm surprised they aren't making it a 1 try per week thing on Arthas for a month or something as well, though I guess it is a 1 try per week if you happen to wipe a few times on the other bosses while gearing up. gg blizz gg.
