I put DND come to eventide for a gear check up for all my pugs. Only probably half the players bother to read the DND and come for a gear check, which helps me sort out who can read. I also get lots of tells saying "My skillscore is 6000!" when I specifically say I don't care what your gearscore is.
There was a funny one though this week where a guy /2'd for a good 30 minutes telling me to invite him when he never once came to Eventide for a gear check.

Because people for instance tell you they have 5.9k GS obviously have done Plagueworks?

It also tells me they can't read.

Edit: In the end neither GS or achievements are guarantee of anything, I just prefer to ask for achievements when I'm being picky.

WHY THE FUCK DO YOU LINK 4 bosses achiev OR your fucking gearscore.

Because 95% of the time, you get invited anyway. Hell, that's how I found my guild (tempted my chance on a icc10 shout with high requirement, got in their 10man raid, and next week, they invited me into their guild).

Yeah, I didn't start pugging till after ulduar when I went from hardcore to casual with friends - and pug 25s now.

I refuse to go through this in cataclysm, thank god 10mans will be more meaningful now.

I am not entirely sure where to put this, but it completely made my weekend. Rogue wasn't listening/responding and was repeatedly doing things he was told not to, and was booted, this is the awesomeness that i received. Also, I was in the middle of doing a few things, i apologize for the bad pics.

The 20% buff makes everything so easy. Every PUG can get past Deathwhisper now. (Deathwhipser was the boss pugs use to fail on then people leave.) Remember when PUGs were bad and couldn't get past Deathwhisper? Or took forever to kill adds and Deathwhisper is berserked?

I prefer people waving at me for inspection.

Bartender is not awful when you are using button facade. You can also scale down your actionbar I don't like to big buttons personally.

that is the UI I am running now, and it is the only one besides blizzards I have ever run or attempted to run. I am still very new to the configuration and still cant quite get things figured out. There is a nice forum with Q/A there that can help out as well. Sorry I am not any more help.
