56% crit and only 18 HSs does seem low. Either RNG owned or you're missing/not prioritizing hotstreak enough? I hate to question your playstyle, but what's your cast priority like? Are you chaining the instant pyro right on the tail end of a FB cast?

Yeah I'm almost always right on top of tank's threat usually. I hold my Mirror images in reserve, use them with high threat and go buck wild, then invisible before they poof. With the GCD added to them their use as a 'dps tool' is minimal.

One final thought is if you're talking about a 10man raid, it's easy not to have the raid buffs that make fireball really shine. Ele Shaman in particular does wonders for me.

Fireball > into HS Pyro = ignite munching. It's normally prioritized into either a scorch refresh (if I don't have a scorch bitch) I.E. HS Proc > Scorch > Pyro, or when LB is about to wear, or I wait about .5sec to avoid the munching. It was definitely sub par in 25's for the tests I did with it in there, but the mana efficiency was much better than going through 1k/sec as arcane.

I'm thinking the low DPS is the fact I'm not at the 2.5 second mark yet self buffed on fireball casts.

I logged out in my TTW/FB gear (full hit, no spriest/boomkin). The lack of both the full set of t7.5 might be causing my problem. I'll be going in tomorrow night and hopefully clearing thaddius/loatheb asap and getting the tokens. I'm thinking I need to pick up some more ulduar gear before I stray away from arcane except for fights like hodir/vezax where I'm mana taxed and get the crit buffs.

Perma 1sec ab = oom, no matter how many ways you slice it.

I know that Ignite munching exists, but I personally mostly ignore it. I don't like the thought of wasting even partial seconds of DPS time (or using a less than ideal rotation) on the possibility that I may lose some 'rolled damage'. I do prioritize HS-Pyros onto scorch and Living bomb refreshes, rather than with a fireball, but I'm not going to waste time (=damage) on even a moderate chance of a double-crit wasting damage.

edit: even still I don't know if 'wasting too much time to prevent ignite munching' can explain your lower than expected dps.

You know, it really frustrates the hell out of me that I am consistently in the top 5 DPS on raids, but because either 1) we're lacking heals or 2) the healers we have at the time kind of suck wind I have to swap specs. -.-; I miss the days when we had 6 healers in guild not counting me and I could just pwn face as Shadow.

Last night I had to swap specs seriously 6 times. I was ready to stab kittens by the time we finished.

Having ADD when it comes to deciding what to level next.

Currently have an 80rogue that I only pvp on, and a druid that I tank and sometimes go boomkin on...

Cant decide if I want to level my 68 hunter, its a quick run to 80, but it'll give me 2 pure dps classes. Could always do dk or level my 35warrior but its sooooo many levels when hunter is so close. I get bored of classes so fast, this sucks. Why can't I just find one that suits me that I like. I think I've had about 6 70's now at least all that I've gotten tired of.

In order to 70 I had Rogue > Warrior > Shaman > Mage > Warlock
To 80 the order changed to Rogue > Warlock > Shaman > Mage > Warrior

So yeah for pure dps classes I had the most fun on Rogue, then Warlock. Hunter's still 62 but I didn't find it all that different from Warlock so I rolled a Priest. It's pretty fun once your gear stops sucking despite your terrifyingly small HP pool. Go go Heirloom items!

I'm just afraid of having 2 pure dps at 80, one seems like it'd get no attention. Warrior I don't think that would happen to. Wish I could grant it levels or swap the levels of something with it.... OR GET THAT GUYS FUCKING SQ/A WHY THE FUCK DOESNT HE HAVE IT. And ofc he wont get a notary to get it restored since hes a homo.... fail.

Ya I got my hunter to 47 but it just bored me to tears, that job blew ass to solo, rerolled priest instead and am having much more fun with it from lvl1.

Now in regards to levelling 2x pure DPS classed, do 1x melee and 1x ranged dps, that way you'll have one for both situations where one is more preferred over the other.
