    Why am I even trying to get in a raiding guild. When PuG's have retarded requirements (5/12 bosses down, 5.2k GS minimum for ICC10, wtf?) theres no way in hell I'm going to get any 251+ gear to be enticing enough for any serious raiding guild. Fuck this crap!
    Thanks Norellicus for your explainations again, sheds me some light on this. I forgotten about the Gabe theory, just had to google it again to see what it was. However, I was not aware of Blizzard making fun of Gearscore, and by prompting me to go Google it I came across a blog/guild called "Undergeared" in which they attempt to take down current/past content in Blue Gear only. Was quite funny and to read that they're quite successful (7/12 in ICC) only proves to me that the fights are not that hard.

    What I lack os the experience currently as me going in there (ICC) is limited. But I didn't find the first 4 bosses that challenging.

    Lower item level items that are vastly superior items should not prevent you from getting into groups (hi2u DMC:G and Black Heart causing your scores to plunge), and expecting pugs to be decked out in current tier gear to raid current tier content is absurd.
    This reminds me I once when I tried to explain to my WoW-only friend the concept of Peacock Charm and why it was vastly superior compared to most things, but the fact he sees it as an "item for level 33s" I was unable to convince him that it was better than... say, a Merman's Gorget, despite it clearly have more accuracy.

    Whoa, that takes me back. Funnily enough, that guild did give that "scrub" a trial not long after that post and I've been an active part of their raid since.

    I still think PuG's have retarded requirements On my server they are now split up between 2 types of groups. The usual ones who do about 4-7 bosses and require 6 minimum and between 5k and 5.3k gearscore. And the ones who aim high like heroic modes or LK, they usually require you to have 6-7 heroics or 11 normal minimum and usually 5.6k or higher gearscore.

    Couple of hours in Un'Goro. Feels like the smelting is taking longer than getting the ore... WTB smelt stack of 20 per.

    Got the epic dagger from Maraudon on my first run with my mage. Got it on my warlock recently when I was leveling him too.

    I'm not even going to use it because I have the boa staff.

    Good thing my luck is wasted on random low level epics and I can't get fucking ICC trinkets to drop for me when I raid for months straight with the drops guaranteed mine.

    Hm, I guess this is just your experience. Before Gearscore/Wowheroes on Firetree you would either A) Gearcheck or B) Armory. It was slower of course but it made the quality of raids much much higher. I still gearcheck and refuse gearscores as substitutes, and it usually makes my pugs pretty good.

    varies. can go for 60g/stack at times. usually 25-40g though. which considering the effort put in, is pretty great imo.

    I got hc spindle last week and hc dfo this week

    WTB an upgrade from 245 bracers and belt though!

    ---

    my real complaint is the new cata beta launcher, it's worse than ffxiv's in that to get it to run I have to run the original downloaded .exe, then check all files... then it shows no progress bar and auto exits

    awesome

    You can buy 264 wrist from AH (the LDW one) and 264 belt from frosties. I'm using them both on my fire mage (Mondrak)

    Almost got Halion 10 HM down in a pug last night, got a little late and people were sloppily? dieing to cutters :/ It's kinda bs 4 heals is ideal for the fight, makes for a long encounter; and I know some 3 heals it but 4 seems to be more stable with even dps in each realm.

    Just probably confused here and I'm not sure if "school being off" has anything to do with it in terms of the maturity of the game/people overall, but why is everyone so unforgiving, I started the game in June, beginning of the summer period, maybe a bad time for me, I'm not sure. Either that or I'm severely underestimating the vast intelligence/maturity of the playerbase as a whole.

    I keep hearing people say that they "can't wait until school starts" because apparently that will filter out a lot of the idiocy? How does that work, I mean, my playtimes are in the evening so that'll just simply make no difference to me.

    Some random memoirs:

    I joined a pug for ToC25 who were on Lord Jaxxaraus (can't spell it). The strategy seems simple (I looked it up really quickly before we engaged), kill adds when they spawn asap, and back on slaughtering the boss. Maybe about 15 people (and a few were afk it was discovered) spammed "noob group" "noob leader" and basically "noob (everything)" and left the group and we all basically disbanded really quick. Not one person offered anything remotely helpful, but I guess the leader's at fault here too for not giving out much info, but still...

    It seems to really hurt people to be somewhat helpful/sociable/informative. I know random dungeons are done by a lot of endgame people only for their 2 frosts, but some of the voilence seems uncalled for. A tank wanted to do "Share the love" achievement, I say sure, no one else says anything. Get to the boss, the tank dies shortly and the hunter basically solo'd the boss with the healer spam healing him. After kill the healer doesn't res the tank, and leaves. Hunter says something along the lines of "do this shit in your own fucking guild" followed by massive amounts of cursing/raging, and leaves. Tank ghosts back and leave (probably shocked).

    ICC10 pick up. We wipe at the first room with trash, that giant bone thing triggered from an alarm. I wasn't helping/leading, but told the tank to turn the bone only before we engaged. That went ignored. We wipe twice, everyone else raged, provided no helpful comments or hints to the tank who's not done it before, just massive amount of cursing as usual and then disbanded.

    Gearscore is a funny territory for me. Without buying the ICC crafted stuff off AH or spending the hard to get Frosts, it seems the maximum gearscore obtainable via Triumphs/ICC 5man Dungeons is about 4900 (I was stuck there for a long time until I was on holiday to allow my RL friends in guild to slot me in for their ICC runs). Yet I've noticed all leaders looking to run an ICC10/25 and/or weekly raid and VOA needs an average (this is based on the values I've eyeballed and averaged out for the last 2-3 weeks) of 5.7k to be even remotely accepted. It seems hypocritical that there seems to be some sort of gap that prevents progression.

    ~~~~
    All of the above reasons have actually slightly terrified me starting my own pick up raids (since I'm back at work I cannot run with my guild for a bit now), due to the unpatient and unhelpful nature of a lot of people. With 4780 gearscore on my tank spec (DK) I have tanked 9 bosses excluding Dreamwalker, Sindra and LK with my guild in ICC10 normal, and with helpful, simple, instructions from the raid we did not wipe once. (I guess having 2 good healers payed a part to this as well). 35k HP unbuffed, so it's a severe drop from the other tank who had 50k HP unbuffed, but it did the job. Yet people can't see past this.
    I'm temporarily turned off from random-heroic tanking unless I'm with guild because of people flexing their e-rage skills behind a screen if I lose threat, especially in trash encounters when there's lots of mobs and people go nuts on them.
    At the moment, I'm not too bothered because I've geared to what I can and the only improvement for me is VoA/ICC, so I'm working on some professions, my interests have swayed into the psychological workings of WoW players, I'm still unsure why every little thing minor thing can easily stress or rage them, it's actually very fascinating to me now.
    To be honest I find the game easy/simple enough, it's just getting people to listen/work together that seems to be the roadblock.
    I'm gonna go read the rest of this thread backwards now to see if anyone is experiencing the same as me
    This is pretty much how it is. I remember thinking all of these things when i came to WoW from FFXI. You either get resilient to idiots or it will get you down. I think finding a decent guild really helps to do content and avoid immature moronic ragequit assholes but good luck finding a nice helpful guild.
    The casual 'I want it now' nature of the game and total non-accountability for your actions and behaviour and zero GM prescence makes WoW a breeding ground for for some of the biggest dicks on the internet.
    Yeh I'm a bit more resilient to them now. Guild wise it's sorted because our floating 8-13 man guild is consists of basically 3-4 people that also knew 2-3 people, and we're linked like that with 0 drama, just a lot and lot and lot of gay jokes, which is fine. I'm only the odd one out because I don't finish work until 1.5 hours they start their run.
    GM presence does seem low, but they seem to be helpful and quick, I was surprised when a GM responded within 3 mins when Arthas bugged out in Culling of Stratholme once. I noticed in chat there seems to be no presence, annoying especially if someone starts a retard train. Current flavour of september seems to be "ANAL [linked achievement,talent,ability,etc]" as spam.
    Oh, as I'm wearing the Kingslayer title now, am I allowed to be (even though I am not; honest to god, I'm really relaxed and rarely argue or take charge. I just listen and do my research.) all high and mighty, make my pugs put my penis on a pedestal, type of person? Haha. Then again they'll probably not like that, but I'll be damned still if people still ask me to link achievements when inspecting me despite me wearing the title.
    Unfortunately (well on most servers) Kingslayer is plagued now so i wouldn't say it is as high and mighty anymore lol.
    I don't know much about Shamans, but one in my guild decided to bid a shit load of DKP on Heroic Shard from Halion (Melee DPS one) is this really bis for shamans or is it only "bis" because it is ilvl 284? as far as i was aware arp is a pretty shit stat for enhance shammys
    Warriors, rogues, feral druids and MM huntards would benefit more from that trinket but since you guys use DKP not much you can do about it except save enough for 1
