Trade channel! Today's topic: do heals crit followed by ensuing shitstorm that nearly lasted the whole day with a couple of people falling for the /camp comment (me included).
10-man crew: "Hey guys, let's do an Undying run!"
Patchwerk killed easily for the achievement, Gluth downed with zero issues.
One hunter misses the jump for Thad, and mysteriously dies. -_-;
One Pally also died on Thad, and the only other death was poor placement by our Shammy during 4H.
Grrr. Just... grr.
4H death doesn't matter if Rivendare dies first!
Without a computer/internet since April 13th and now my patch won't download.![]()
Emalon.
it basically ruined the whole point of VoA, imho.
while i understand blizzard didnt want to give random tier 8.5 drops around so soon, the increased difficulty of the encounter has turned VoA from a relaxed, weekly pug moment to something that lasts 1 hour, countless wipes and about hundreds CAPS YELLS or insults.
people doesnt want to do Emalon first, others dont want to be saved on Archavon. every wipe someone leaves, insults ensue.
they should simply implement something like Sartharion, some "easy mode" without adds granting tier8 instead of 8.5 maybe, so that groups can still clear VoA.
Completely agree. VoA used to be an easy way to get a shot at some tier pieces, maybe a mammoth if you were wtfomg lucky, but emalon changed things. I appreciate difficulty in the game, but this is one instance where it's not wanted. VoA is 99% of the time pure pugs, and it's not often you see emalon downed.
VoA should have been tuned for the lowest denominator and only drop PvP gear.
VoA should have another portal , VoA and VoE.
Emalon isn't that hard, if it were in FFXI you'd consider it a trivial BCNM
Because changing target and doing 2k dps is easy.
Yeah, I don't know what the fuss is about, Emalon gets pugged fine on my server. Not had problems since a couple of weeks after it was released, now everyone has had a chance to see it.
^
Been one-two shotting it since week one. It really isn't difficult, even without good DPS (sub 2k) it's possible, it's so ridiculously easy now. The only thing I've seen recently which sucks is getting a bad tank with less HP than me, so they throw him on the boss and he can't hold aggro or dies to Nova. DK shines MTing that fight, everytime I suggest it people just do the usual, ignorant, "no u has 43k hp u tank adds, lolol"
Emalon is incredibly easy. I know that the majority of PvPers suck, but still, as Shenmue said, it's just changing target and doing 2k DPS.
Still, I think they should've been in seperate instances somehow. I also think they should've had an easy mode with PvP gear only and a harder version that drops PvE gear too. I don't get why that didn't occur to them as neither group particularly wants the other.
Seriously, VoA is the furthest from difficult this game has offered so far...some heroic bosses are harder. I can pull 2k self buffed on a dummy in gear that still has some 170 blues. If people would axe the windowlickers and mouthbreathers who can't even pull 1800 RAID BUFFED and tell them to learn their classes we might actually get somewhere. If people can't manage to switch targets to the oversized guardian (a far from necessary but welcome change btw, saves a few seconds considering how slowly they grew before) and burn it down...they shouldn't even have a shot at the gear, period. It's not elitism, it's earning your fucking keep.
But I may be bitter and biased after watching a 500 dps warlock and 1k mage waste my time in Naxx though, especially when they basically got all the drops thanks in some small part to my extra consumables spent on staying alive to finish off the bosses they weren't helping kill in a reasonable time... >.>
I dont see Emalon being just "switch target and 2k dps". Maybe with good raid healers and good pve tanks, but that is far from the average pug population.
Emalon requires good positioning because of the bolts and awareness + movement because of the Nova. Yes, both wont kill a good epic player, but most people I saw get almost one shotted, or not healed enough after that.
Also, the fight is too much for the standard, average heroic tank.
All in one, it's a terrible leap in difficulty from Archavon, who simply requires to "walk out of cloud" and bring 2 tanks.
