hmmm did an av today. Decided to be a good helper and stay and defend TP (I'm alliance). We win by taking down drek. Those actually at drek got about 150 honor points. The rest of us defending got about 50 (I actually got less than some horde.)


So it's better to stand around at drek and possible lose, than it is to help defend. -.-;

They probably rushed it because their Blizzcon plans don't include a 4.0.1 preview, so they needed the patch out the door before then. Otherwise it becomes "the elephant in the room" when all their planned presentations are in a post-4.0 world.

Still that leaves us in a pretty shitty place for 9 weeks. I will likely barely play until Cata actually hits. Hopefully they have time to fix stuff before that happens.

And really, if they don't get their head out of their asses in.re: design philosophy, I'll move on. I wonder how long it will take them to realize that having healing designed around not running out of mana is not a fun mechanic.

I have to admit I laughed REALLY HARD when I read the addendum. And even more when he said "well not like there was much you could do about it in the remaining 12 hours" (considering Ulduar mount takes about 2 hours to get)

As far as I could tell it was literally impossible for me to run out of mana on my resto druid.

Same with my druid, but with a little reforging to sacrifice some of that god awfully high spirit in favor of other stats, it started behaving normally mana-wise.

It is, for a lot of people. Check out the "how much gold do you have" thread: lots of people don't have much money. In fact, of the people that have the amount of money to the point where dropping 5k on 310% flying is trivial, most probably already have a 310% mount anyway.

It's still funny if you remember the amount of crying when they removed the 3.0 mounts without much notice at all. In fact, there was enough crying that they stated that going forward, they'd give us at least a month notice on changes like this in the future so that people would have enough time to plan appropriately. Yet here we are, year and a half later, and they're still making the same mistakes.

Well, really all that's being taken away is free 310% flight speed, not the mounts. And I have a real hard time believing someone who raids consistently enough to earn the vanquisher mounts can't scrape together 5k. Unless you're buying guild banks you've got nothing to save money for at this point.

Rather than try and address multiple threads, I'm just going to plop our current thoughts in this one post. Please excuse the brevity.

1) We think Fury, Arms, Feral cat and Retribution dps is too low and we will be buffing them.

2) We think mage dps is too high, especially Fire, and will be nerfing it.

3) We think Shadow priest dps is too high, but that's largely a result of Shadow Word: Death spam, which is tough on healers. We'll be fixing that.

4) We think Destro warlock dps is too high, but that's largely a result of Searing Pain spam, which is tough on tanks. We'll be fixing that.

5) As we suspected, PvP dps is just too high given that the health pools of Cataclysm haven't kicked in yet. While competitive PvP is over for the moment, we still want the environment to feel better so we will be buffing resilience. This change might be reverted at level 85.

There will probably be more changes after another night of raiding and BGs. Many of the bug fixes we have made today will affect dps as well. Stay tuned.

Would be especially annoyed if fury dps ends up as worse dps than ret. Since fury has no stable methods of self healing and so much +% damage taken on offensive cooldowns.

Is this a serious post or an epic troll? Mage was the top DPS all through icc aside from a fury warrior with shadowmourne. Don't believe me? Give world of logs a look. so you saying falling behind all those classes "Again" really makes no sense, at all. especially since ret has been bottom of the barrel since naxx

Ret no longer has any good ways of healing without losing DPS and fury needed a nerf pretty bad towards the end of icc.

Ret self healing was pretty much destroyed with this patch. Something crazy like 35% of your single target damage comes from TV so wasting your Holy Power on heals is huge.

Oh boy spriest is hot lol, did 19.5k dps on rotface normal (cuz we were working on achiev for mount), last 25% spam of SW: D is nuts and scary, glad our healers are amazing and kept both of us spriests alive :D.

Edit: my complaint is the nerf, well not really, SW: D glyph needs to be changed.

Atm fury is pretty bad, from my voa25 clear last night i was having a hard time doing any competative dammage compared to the others (hello 25kdps boomkin), My rotation was fine just there isnt really much there to go off, execute is pretty good now tho was critting from 9-11k and could be spammed to get 25% attack speed.

execute can be used at any time now? or still only under 20% hp

Arcane is hilarious right now, mages blowing their mana pools in seconds but getting 100k+ crits is nuts.

Moonkin is pretty fun too, insect swarm is insanely powerful. I was about to do 15-16k with very bad gear and not a whole lot of experience, not playing particularly well with no addons.

I was doing BGs earlier and I swear boomkins where somehow one shotting me with Moonfire. Other than that though BGs are fucking crazy, Frost now has almost 100% uptime on Fingers of Frost so you can just spam 9k ice lances and 13k frostbolts all day erry day...and thats in PvP gear.
