Heroics are harder than normals while leveling, I used basically no cc at all while leveling, though I didn't have the gear to tank til 83ish having just hit 80 a week before.
Can't vendor them lol. The only reason for people to roll that can't use is if they just plain don't know, which is why it's pretty dumb that they didn't make it either not bop or protected against people that can't use.
Can't be traded whatsoever.
Failed Barodin Hold because I got stuck in the retard guild group because "Sax is the best geared healer" so I was with 6-8k dps and a holy priest who didn't know he had Dispel Magic...
Yeah ramping up guild raiding is tough because the RL is all like "I don't want to make a good group and a fail group, I want to divide us evenly until we get enough geared people for 25..."
Then we get people who stand in fires and react slow as shit instead of picking the people that we ran with for HLK10 & glory metas in Wrath...orz
Sadly, this.
Also, I'm loving the near-insta queues at the moment from all the lack of healers. I've retooled how to heal very carefully, but the biggest issue has come down to the healer no longer being able to carry the group. And goddamn do we have some stupid motherfucking tanks and DPS. No, you can't stand in the fire anymore. No, you can't eat that easily disruptable or avoidable attack and expect me to heal you through it. No, you can't AOE everything like a boss.
All I have to do is drop and get a new group of 4 retards, with a small chance of getting someone actually viable.
I've kind of given up on getting to heroics. My resto sham just got the min to go to heroics, but usually, my pug groups are barely getting through normals. As far as cc goes, I would assume it is needed for most heroics, too bad noone knows that shammys have hex/bind ele because we got them after the last time cc was used(bc). Also, I'm loving the near-insta queues at the moment from all the lack of healers
Right now, I just log in to scoop up gold with crazy ah prices, do some dailies and try for jp from a random. My alt spec in enh, but as much as I curse out the idiots I heal, the aoe and invisible ground effects make me a sponge at times as well.
So, basically, the reason healers are the new insta queues, is because most healers don't enjoy the stressful way it plays now( big heals won't heal more than 30% of a life bar with a crit, the whole pt gets drained constantly and aoe heals are relatively weak and require all in a close vacinity).
Yeah Im about ready to just take the long dps queue time because its so stressful being a healer with how stupid every one plays. I just got bitched and kicked out of a group on the first boss of Halls of Origination because all 3 dps stood in the fire until they died (one even moved out of the fire and fell off the ledge to their death). Yeah sorry I can't heal through that.
The heroic - normal step up in difficulty is also another factor against healing, I had my mostly ICC gear kit with some questing and 333 pieces as paladin and healed just fine HoO normal, only to get faceplanted trying to heal Vortex Pinnacle (The dragon), Healing SFK was also a bitch, the ghouls at the start were hitting the better geared tank (compared to my gear) like a freaking train.
How did you even get into a heroic using ICC level gear?
because lovely blizzard calculator checks gear from your bags too (aka my tanking gear), working as intended, at least all of my holy gear is actual healing gear unlike a priest we got that was using DPS gear, not even reforged the hit into spirit![]()
Phased mining point.
Move in, it disappears.
Move back out, it reappears
Fucking tease.
I wish the final phase was the default one for the map so you wouldnt have to worry about this after completing the area.
Tol Barad, just when i thought it was impossible for anything to be worse then Wintergrasp, Blizzard manages to implement the shit fest that Tol Barad is.
I've been tanking all my pug instances as DK, and I finally achieved the gear to do heroics last night but didn't start.
The worst tank stigma dates back to patch 3.5 and before I believe. At that time I admit it is true even I felt lackluster compared to Paladin and Warrior (can't compare Druid as there's not one in guild) as I felt they can hold threat so well, especially AoE.
Since the fixes to the talent trees and adjustments to threat and such, I feel on top if not equal to the other 2 tanks. It's fun to see my dps in normal instances hit 9-15k in just packs of 3-5 trash xD
I haven't fiddled with the mastery forging yet so I feel I am taking more of a beating for now, but am looking to do so now I can squeeze myself into heroics. But judging by the horror stories even I am a bit concerned doing it unless it's with Guild. While I am very patient, unfortunately rarely anyone else would have the same "have fun, learn, be social, lol" mindset as me in a heroic.
Twilight Highlands is the worst offender here, actually. There are huge sections of the map that are phased by which faction you are, and there's no 'final' phase. Some nodes are simply forever inaccessible to Horde/Alliance, but they will sure as fuck show up on your map and let you start harvesting.
Calling DKs lackluster is pretty fail, I find all 4 tanks to be well suited for the task, as a druid you can root, as a paladin you can stun elementals and AoE tank easily, DK got 2 silences, a lolCC and DeathGrip, and warrior can dispel itself most magic effects, though the war self healing might require better healers.
