this. I am pretty much toe-to-toe w/ our guild's mage (a little higher or lower given the fight). And he is a good friend who switched to our guild, but has been in the top raiding guilds in wrath and gotten a lot of server first kills. But again, feral dps depends on fight mechanics as some bosses require you to atk from the front (lol feral dps), and others require you to constantly move around and leave the boss alone or kill adds
rogues top lol. On a decent fight, top 5. But right now a fury warrior in blues will kill a rogue in purps. DK's, Enh Shamans and Mages are all making rogues there bitches right now on the meters. Possible top 10 dps for a fight yea, but when you go from 1-2 on a fight to 8-10 you know somethings up. In fact our main raid isn't even using rogues or rets right now. 2 DK's 2 Enh Shamans 1 War 1 Feral Kitty.
Doesn't Brutallus suck for rogues also? You are right there w/cats having to atk from the front.
So I leveled rogue to be a dps, and instead it will be relegated to a utility role? Worse things have happened.
Tank needs on DPS neck (agi , crit, mastery) I didnt say shit, then tank sword drops (parry) so I need and win, then the tank goes:
him: joking?
me: neck?
Was a group of 4 from same guild and I wanted exp, which is mainly the reason I didnt bitch about the neck, but then they go "that neck is suited for tanks and dps) yeah riiiight
He had KS (not like its/was hard to get) using CoT shield ._.
No wonder healers have a hard time when people will just use anything for tanking, if they at least reforged the stats, but nooo, saw a ret suing unforged tank pieces and a tanking meta too -_-
STR doesnt increase anything relevant anymore, neither does agility --for tanks--, that said I'm currently using some dps boots because nothing better has dropped (and I was the only plate user when I rolled for them)
But yes there's loads of people running around with retarded pieces, then again this feral druid with 1.3% hitrating was pushing like 10k dps on azgalorth, its like stats dont really matter ._.
Threat and dps aside, it does have some effect on mitigation (on paladin) if you're using Word of Glory since both AP and SP takes dibs in strength, and WoG scales with both (you're looking at something like 2.5hp/str for 1 holypower, and the skill crit more often then not ~5-6hp). I have no idea how well it scales compared to expertise for threat though, but I'm not sure it's completely worthless. Worthwhile stats? Unlikely. But not relevant at all...idk. Going from ilvl333 to 345 increased my hps considerably.
Well I dont have a WoG build and still did more DPS and healing that the other pala tank in that azgalorth bunch of wipes, including my 312 relic ;_;
That said, pretty sure your average randomer doesnt run with such builds![]()
And it's a shame! That build is amazing for 5man at least, and I don't think it will be very different for raiding.
I wouldn't put money on it, but I think there is a fair chance it catch on later. The only real sacrifice is consecration talent (pretty useless imo), and a 10% judgement glyph. It's a relatively minor dps cost, for much more versatility in most fights.

(that's what I'm using right now)
In heroic 5man, I manage to put up to 15-25% of the total healing (3HP stack is 18k/30k) while maintaining 5k dps. When I spam SoTR actively, my dps goes up to around 7k dps. I know it's rough number from non-optimal situation, but you can usually find a fair compromise in most fight. I will try to get raid numbers tomorrow using that spec and see how it goes.
