4 fucking heroics i attempted today, not one got past the 2nd boss. Figuring in the suprisingly low wait time of 38 min each, that was my day. Fuck my life.
WTB Tanks that can hold threat. WTB Dps that I don't have to carry. WTB Raiding group :/
I've not had a Warrior tank before but from what I can see this is how it stands:
Paladin initial threat is horrible. My guild has mainly Paladin tanks and when we heroic together I have to hold back as a DK. They're not bad people either, but I must hold back and not go nuts (I've tweaked gear but not gemmed or enchanted yet and I'm doing 13k dps single target), Paladins cannot keep up with that initially especially when multiple targets are involved, despite me actually targetting what they're targetting and me focusing on Single Target.
Bear threat seems awesome/on par with DK, very high initial threat, I have no need to hold back when they're tanking.
DK threat I know myself, I don't think anyone needs to hold back when I'm tanking, even aoe threat is fine thanks to Death and Decay and Blood Boil XD
My own Paladin is 82 and I can already see the difficulties in AoE tanking however. So I don't think this is a player problem but just mechanics problem.
In regards to the low wait times, I really dread getting my Rogue to 85 and actually having to gear it up. Luckily they only have 1 set of gear but still, the thought of queuing only to get to a first boss and wipe and everyone rage leaves is a horrible thought.
Do people not realize that if your group falls apart inside a heroic, as long as you don't actually leave you can just keep telling it to look for more people and be at the top of the list?
Anyone else having issues with wow atm? The wife and I keep getting "Launcher cannot obtain patching information. Please check your internet configuration." Nothing has changed since i logged off last night, dunno what the issue is.
all of the login and update servers and shit are down atm for maintenance
extended maintenence until 11am PST. huge nerf patch.
To add: just hurry up and nerf heroics to shit already blizzard. We all know its coming. I wanted harder content, but after this past week it's become glaringly apparent the community as a whole cant handle it. So just nerf the shit into faceroll territory so i can get my shit and get out. I don't care anymore. I'm tired of waiting in queue for 45 minutes just to leave because of incompetence. Just let me get my shit and get out already.
Yeah, and you get those new people, and they suck, you wipe a few times, someone else leaves, get more new people, fail some more, someone else leaves, never get past the first boss, get tired of two hours fucking around with the same fucking boss, make up some excuse and leave.
Didn't really want the deserter debuff on top of the 40 minute queue wait time so when I left I just logged to an alt and leveled her for a while before going to bed. I think I jumped in the queue at like 7 PM and ended up leaving that party at about 9:40 without getting more than 100 rep out of the run. Waste of time. Guild runs onry from now on.
I figured that was the case, I have just never had an error that wouldn't even load the game. Will wait it out until the 3rd or 4th extension, then go to bed.
I guess that explains why I haven't been able to get on the forums, which is always entertaining for work reading.
you can read the forums just can't log in to post
I've had a "Site down for maintenance" page since 8 AM.
I've been reading forums all morning, but they just went down and started giving me "It's a busy day for battle.net so we took down wow and sc2 community sites" message.
I have no issues whatsoever with threat. The other paladin tank in my guild apparently does as one of the DPS wonders why he never has to hold back at the start of pulls with me but often has to with the other guy. We even ran a heroic the other night with him making sure to never slow down and keep going at it as best he could from the start of pulls (he wasn't stupid and pulling for me or anything though) and he never took threat off me.
My best conclusion for this issue is speed. I pull fast and do not wait between pulls (unless I see healer is oom) so this gives me vengeance from the previous pull when I make the next pull. That's a good bit of extra threat. My other tank sits there and stares at the next mob for a good 5-10s before he realizes as the tank he needs to be pulling.
Those are some pretty shitty Shaman notes........
Perhaps pace is quite important then.
I do very hate this though, I loved the way you described it:
I too pull like a nutter, I like to keep the pace flowing really well as it's become a mini game for me to keep Vengeance up. But tanks that stand there ....... oh god help ! lol. Due to this I actually enjoy it if people pull for meMy other tank sits there and stares at the next mob for a good 5-10s before he realizes as the tank he needs to be pulling.![]()
ouch@mana tide change lol
