Yeah I hate northrend leveling the most due to the fact that dungeons give not even 10% of your level per run. I find questing so mind numbing, mostly because I'm leveling my 4th alt through the northend zones so its all old and boring to me now.

Although alot of people in WoW are stupid, I like the interaction with other people more than just solo questing from 1-85.

I grinded Paladin 55-84 now via dungeons (tanking, this was over 5 months). Don't think I'll be able to do so on an alt that's not able to get insta-queues though. Hence my Rogue is progressing a lot slower due to laziness

Did a few Cata quests so I can buy the tabards, but I probably won't be questing. Maybe if I need gold later I'll do all the Northend and Cata quests at 85 for the gold

I tend to do a combination of both honestly. When I took Aks from 80 to 85 I quested the whole way and I managed to get to honored guild rep, which is enough for dinging 85 to matter for the achievements. I do also just like to get in dungeons to learn the classes and how they play in a group, since this game for me isn't like FFXI where I knew everything about everything. Sometimes I just need a change of pace. I'm at the point with my alts where I've done some zones a zillion times (sick of leveling in the Barrens) and I just need the change of pace. And Outland dungeons are fun as hell.

I'm just frustrated because most of my alts have just gone through that level 15-20 range and RDF keeps sticking me in Wailing. I've done Deadmines one time on an alt, and the only time I get put in RFC is if I queue up for it specifically. And part of my rush to get to 20 was because walking everywhere blows. Lol.

If you don't mind taking your time, getting 2-3 bg wins per day should get you a level per day still at that level, bg exp from random bonus is pretty hawt.

Headed south achievement, the siamat one.

It can go fuck itself. I'm so reluctant to bring to healers and dull it down to a 10-12minute fight, but I might have to.

Been only missing that achievement for like 3 weeks now, it's not so bad for classes like Paladins that have defensive cooldowns but as a Mage my life is completely up to the healer.

We were trying it as DK tank, Holy priest, warlock hunter ele sham. The amount of damage when you kill the one off, all stacked up, and then tossed around the room is rough. We tried doing the 10min strat and had the ele try going resto with his ele gear, and it was a joke - but we had some trouble near the end anyway... the hunter basically did no damage to the shield and it caught up to us.

Just went to AB on my prot warrior, me and two others go up to LM. Kill off their priest and DK. I go to assault the flag, neither of the other two do. Mage comes up and ice lances me to interrupt. We kill mage, I go to assault. DK death grips me away. One of them die off around this point. Then the DK's and rezzing people all focus on me as I kill them somehow and the other person there just keeps trying to kill them, slowly and only occasionally. He never goes to assault the flag. We eventually all die because they keep fucking rezzing and no flag assault has happened. What the fuck people, AB is about assaulting flags, assault the fucking flags.

Going south was fairly easy with 2 healers, 1 tank, 2 dps. That was without whittling him down for 10 minutes, just blew him the f up with the healers dpsing at the end. No problem.

I did it similarly to this.

Basically what we figured out is this: He swaps forms when the 3rd add dies, even if the other 2 are still up. So, we marked em, I worked the other 2 down fairly low without the dps touching him.

When the third one comes out, we burned it down so he changed forms, that way during the nasty bouncing there's only 1 stack up, and you're not dealing with the 500000 clouds involved in the slow strat.

Once you stop bouncing around, burn boss, when buff gets to ~10 seconds burn another one, and again burn the last one with about 10 seconds left on buff.

We were able to get it with just a couple seconds left on the debuff despite one of our 2 dps getting knocked off and losing the buff. He did get back up and blow all his cd's and whatnot though. We didn't have hero, either.

Most strats I read have the dps widdle him(shield up) to 75 or 70% before killing the add and breaking the shield - did you still do this? We will have a lust as well if it matters. Probably dk tank, rdruid hpriest lock ele.

my group did it w/ 2 healer 2 dps 1 tank, take down his HP to 100k, stack up, kill adds, kill boss. very easy and relatively failproof. Took like 20 min or so though

Just do it normally except hold adds, kill 3rd add first, then the other 2. Makes it far easier if you only try to get ~3 people the achievement at a time as it is an individual achievement. If you can't kill him in ~60 seconds with a damage buff you have issues with your group. The damage that goes out when the shield is popped is significant but not insane, health pots/healthstones and defensive CDs would make it very manageable for most healers I would assume.
