I hadn't seen true terrible bear tanks, until today at 1st boss in HoO, even with the healer explaining to him to pick only one side of snakes and someone else picking up the other side he still went down into the other side and failed to properly aoe tank the snakes

I was basically fixing it to a useless sports league that barely anyone cares about. Basically the bastard child of US sports, if you will.

When you clarify it, your analogy makes sense. I just didn't see it that way when I first read it.

My random complaint is how shitty stats are for Mages. Mastery and Haste have always been shitty except for getting to the haste cap which is god awful easy, and now there's starting to be some talk of Crit actually being not as good as previously thought because of living bomb crits eating up bigger ignites for a huge loss of DPS. So basically once we get hit capped (easy as hell) we just get bad stats. Plus Rawr is basically saying for everyone to go full haste to hit these little tiers, with little non theorycraft application.

ah, the advantages of not having to min max anymore (not that I ever did much min maxing to begin with) just stack mastery, stamina then leave the rest as is, ???, profit.

Or maybe the advantage is that I group with players more terrible than me

Before I knew about Ignite Munching, I was wondering why my DPS would fluctuate so much. Now that I know about it, and try to only use Combustion when I knew I just got a solid Ignite off FB or Pyroblast!, the class seems a bit less enjoyable. I just wish Frost was a viable PvE spec, because it's certainly a lot more fun to try and push DPS with it for me.

I wouldn't say Frost isn't viable, on single target fights its pretty much on par with Fire. Fire AoE's really well but Frost has the survivability (at least a little) and Burst. Personally, I hate playing Frost and find it to be very boring. Fire is VERY fun to me to play, but the DPS and mechanics could use some work.

Two years ago, I entered that big vyrkul cave in howling fjord, crashed, and couldn't log back in until I called a GM on another character.

Since my pc is much better this time around, I decided to give it another go....same fucking shit.

Fishing is massively profitable, albeit tedious-- but it has great uses provided you combine it with cooking.

Cooking is amazing these days as well, you can pick 90 of any stat you want, and it's not tedious at all with the exception of fishing for ingredients (which I don't bother with).
More than half of my chars have some form of self-healing and I don't raid. Any time I can't or don't heal with mana, I usually eat the food I naturally accumulate from drops. I do occasionally use bandages, but only if I'm in a hurry. Plus, unlike the other 3 2nds, you don't have to go out of your way to level First Aid. Food buffs, while substantial, are a min/maxer's thing. I frankly don't care enough about random dungeons or BG queues to waste time or energy on an additional buff for people who might make it worthless. I don't care about money, so the dailies just eat up space for rep grinding. Arch is tedious, but at least I have a chance at some funny toys and BOA gear while getting some lore points in.

I understand I'm probably in the minority (not every person is a Druid or Shaman), but this is my view on the subject.

First Aid lost its value over expansions for sure. I didn't play in Vanilla but I heard stories of timing bandages after massive AoEs during raids, and in BC even on my paladin I used tons of bandages because Rets didn't heal for much and had very limited mana. Slowly the game phased out the need though, even rogues and warriors can heal themselves well enough to not really bother with first aid.

Fishing/Cooking are silly things to level if you are bored, odds are you will know someone with cooking leveled to cook food for your raids. It's probably even faster to farm than fish now a days, especially if you are fishing for INT food since 90% of your casts will be Murglesnouts which have no use.

Pretty sure the Cata model is actually bringing back the usefulness of bandages.

For my complaint: Subscription was to run out at 7:57am today, I cancelled as I'm trying out Rift and my guild seems to have little hope of actually getting its shit together to raid and I can always just re-sub when I want to go back. Went to log on an hour or so ago and my time was over already. I wanted to clear out my inbox so that if/when I return I haven't lost a bunch of stuff, but oh well. Chances are I'll be back in a few days, lol.

Bandages are definitely useful, they save about 6-10k mana on your healers. Any time you're not up against a dps check mechanic, but rather a healing check mechanic, that is pretty useful. For example, post-crackle in Nef, the entire raid is down 70-80k health, why not start bandaging for a few seconds.

Unfortunately I know very few DPS that use them at all.

Everything I still hate about cata:

    1) still buggy as sh*t. If I leave a pos pug where the dps is barely scratching out 5k, half the time I won't be able to queue for another heroic or bg because it says I'm using the random queue already. I'm wearing one 333 trinket(because it's better than the 346s that I have gotten as well) otherwise I'm full of 346 and 359, but all day today I have been auto-d into normal instance queues because my ilvl was registering as 324. TB dailies are the main/only thing in the game to do waiting on queues, but both the spawns and half the quests are still broken as sh*t. Even after casting shammy orbs, sometimes they will circle me for a few rotations, then an animation will show them entering my body and just the buff emblem shows that they are active (completely random if they keep circling or not).

    2) class changes. I'm a shammy main, still most random instance leaders do not know about Hex, ALL paladins keep their def+ aura on no matter how many others in the group have a str/agi+ buff, so my earth totem is worthless. Furthermore, damn near 100% class interchangeability, every other class has the exact same buff as half the other classes. Shammy in particular gets the headache of swapping totems for every pt they join while other classes just don't give a sh*t or can't change their buff.

    3) Content. As mentioned before, TB dailies are the main event in the game outside of queues or raiding. In expansions past, their have been at least a handful of end-game factions to grind rep with for various rewards, cata just has TB...

    4) TB. I was on a horde dominant server for WOLK. The damn near mandatory world pvp zone was a huge contributing factor in my switching servers to alliance dominant server for cata, just to find out that after 2 years of being stomped on due to pvp design focusing purely on numbers, now I will still get stomped on due to a focus on skill and an exploit for numbers.

    5) Buff Timers. I still have to put up weapon buffs every 30 mins. I can understand pt buffs having a 1hr timer so you can't be buffed forever once you leave that pt. But, seriously wtf is the reason for making personal buffs wear in less time than it takes to do an instance? dual wield spec is a pain in the ass with this...

    6) need/greed. There are three groups when in comes to rolling in groups. 1) the kind that ask to roll need for an off spec in a group that can't use their armor type anyways (like we covet the 20g at an npc to sell it more than letting it go to someone who can use it). 2) the kind that just roll greed automatically and are perfectly fine when someone needs things because, again, 20g isn't a loss to be mad about. 3) the kind that have alts/friends/friends with alts that need/could use that boe rare that just dropped. They won't just ninja it, they will ask the pt first.

    7) Random queues. Tanks are kings/whores that can get anyone into a heroic instantly. FFS the whores need to be punished. Also, I have zoned into quite a few "in progress" instances just to be 1-shotted by a boss move the instant I loaded the zone.

    8) the AH. STILL need an add-on to be able to buy sh*t quickly. Listing single items changes your listing from stack, to single item, but then trying to list stacks does not change it back ( I have had to cancel too many listings to count due to that irritating "convenience").

I should develop a dependence on a more consistent vice like heroin or pcp...

Working on Loremaster, today I was running through Eastern Plaguelands, and I got lag spikes - only in that zone, and on two toons - every ten minutes or so. Full log didn't fix it. Frustrating, as hell, but at least it's just that one zone, so hopefully I can finish the rest of the achievement tomorrow.

2nd boss Deadmines, 2 of them oak lakeys before the boss

healer demands that we kite, because they hit too hard
    I demand that we don't
    he demands that we do
I say we 3 manned this dungeon
he says his guild is 12/12 normal and their tank still kites the 2 mobs (on the basis of that this wasn't what i expected out of him, I laugh)
    I boot him

    GREATER JUSTICE!!!!

In hindsight, is there 12 bosses altogether in current raids? or did he mean ICC lol

12 boss encounters in total right now; 6 in Blackwing Descent, 4 in Bastion of Twilight, 2 in Throne of the Four Winds.

It's not that they hit hard, its that they spam the pt with 15-20k/tick bleeds. IMO kiting doesn't help because they can throw those bleed moves anyways.

Ah. I've never noticed, even during early days, we healed through them, whether it be 1 or 2. I was monitoring our tank/group's DPS and know we could down them with no problem.

EDIT: Cheers Norell for confirming. Not been raiding much so I didn't pay attention XD

It takes no effort to kite them, and some people actually suggest a strat because they might have experience or know how shit is their gear, booting him for that is a dick move. Saying you 3 manned the dungeon is neither impressive nor relevant for the current people in your group.

I don't remember his name now or I'd look him up but he was in a good handful of 359 gear, which is why I argued against him in the first place for a pitiful 2 mobs.

The point is why I removed him is because he's making a big deal out of the 2 mobs when we cleared everything before it with no effort and nor CC. I mentioned 3 man theory to just hint that it's not required at our gear/dps/healing level. Then he replied with the fact their main guild tank do it and they're 12/12 in raids, I found it more amusing.

This may seem like a dick move on my part but just from the fact if you add everything up, you kinda have expectations for people if they say they're 12/12 and with such gear. Especially if before I've never kited it and none of the healers that healed me has ever complained. When our replacement healer came we just bulldozed the dungeon with no trouble or worries.

Sure, if his guild was 1/12 and maybe only beat 4 heroics and is kitted out in 333 gear I'd have been more forgiving. Do you not think?
